pfffft. did you build any station for yourself and bought module blueprints? there are a ton of them. do you know if you buy a given module, like hull parts production, then what products will it need? please read before replyChris0132 wrote: ↑Thu, 6. The encyclopedia lists what products any given ware requires to make, and can be used to make. Though I think it might depend on which race you buy the module from because I think hull plates can be made either out of RMP or teladianium.CaptainX4 wrote: ↑Thu, 6. Or you could just scan a station with that part and then it'll tell you the production chain. I think if you have a station module in the enyclopedia it will also tell you but you don't get that until you buy the blueprint I think which is unfortunate, should probably be added once you scan it.

Re: Map rant
hmmm, when i've checked there were no wares in my encyclopedia probably because i didn't meet them yet, neither the modules i wanted to check. it seems i still have to encounter things first to see their details. even then there is no info on how much of each is needed so i cant find out how many solar pant can feed how many production plants but i will figure that out. learned something new todayChris0132 wrote: ↑Thu, 6. I don't object to having to find things before my encyclopedia knows about them, personally. But it could be a start option along with how much of the map you already know, perhaps.

Finding things, and being forced to fly around any given station for 10+ minutes are entirely different things though...
The latter being highly annoying (least it was in Rebirth) after the second time you did it. I don't mind there being the ability to do so for those sadistic people that want to do it, but it should in no way be required. Just let me buy that shit for a few credits (for early game) and have a software extension / upgrade for a reasonable price (early mid game) that makes that information available automatically when getting in range of a station.
That way whoever enjoys torturing themselves can just skip paying and buying the software, and the rest can just buy the software and never have to think about that crap again without losing out on anything.
X:BtF: 7/10 | X2: 8/10 | X3:R/TC/AP: 8/10 | X:R: 3/10 | X4: 0/10 (3 points for split ships and stations, 4.0 -> -50 points).
If you are raising pirate activity, give me meaningful ways to deal with them PERMANENTLY. Better things to do than replacing ships every 10 minutes, or babysitting ships getting harassed.
Stopped playing X4 with 4.0 due to outrageous, needless and pointless nerfs to everything. Don't change what wasn't broken in the first place.
