you are saying it just because you want us to preorder on Steam NOW!

(And I would like to ask again, could we get the novel with preorder, like before release? The availability of the books beyond Germany is extremely bad :( )

I was debating with myself about pre-purchasing and even more so about the fancy collectors edition. > Nope. Not gonna do it. Sorry. You made great games, EGOSOFT. Had easily 500 hours fun with X3AP (mostly Litcube though). But XR was a real ****.
Though, the X4 trailers and streams do look very promising.

On another topic. I would like to encourage you to release X4 on GOG. I will pre-order it there. Promise! Maybe even the fancy version.
Seriously, it's a huge market by now. More and more people realize: you don't really own games bought on Steam.
Already been discussed and answered elsewhere with confirmation it won't be on GOG for release but likely to follow the same cycle as XR did, and be released on GOG after about a year or so.

This is (I presume) because they don't want to provide a DRM-free .exe to run the game until it has been out for a while, for obvious piracy and IP protection reasons.

Preordered Collectors Edition from Egosoft shop some time ago and now it's only 18 days left... It will be very long 18 days to wait for a proper continuation of X series. I just hope it will be worth it.

Hi All,
I am now 83 Years old.
I started playing the X Series in Year 2004. Wow! What an exciting time over the years playing such a vast and diverse game. I have been helped by many
excellent Forum Players who willingly give their time and skills to help others.
Really looking forward to X4 Foundations.
Cheers - Watch your six.

83 years old and playing X, how awesome is that!

My hype for X4 is growing as we get closer to launch, my Steam pre-order is ready and waiting. Hopefully a good diversion over the Christmas period for when 'the family' gets a bit too much. :D

So, as a long time fan and customer of the X series (I think I bought a couple of games twice, once as a separate product and later as a set) and learning from the Rebirth experience, the wise thing for me to do is wait for the launch, wait for a week or two for solid information about the game quality and buy it for the Christmas. Or not.

I would suggest getting your review information from this forum, instead of third-party sites. This is where you will get the best information.

where that idea came from? It didn't work for Rebirth. Every post was about "not an X3", "expected X3". There was nearly zero info of what it is. Just all things what it isn't.

As opposed to third party review sites? 3 of 5 stars, more of the same, "too much space," etc. They didn't know what to expect in an X game. I just figured that people who have spent the last 20 years playing X games would have a better opinion than people who stop playing a game because they can't beat the title screen.

That's why good reviewers are better then random YT "gameplay" guy IMO. To give emotionless description of the game. What it is. What you get. Not hindered by useless expectations or wild dreams. That is if you don't have objective friends who you know and know how to listen to them.

Just over 2 weeks till release and oh boy do I feel like a kid at Christmas...oh, wait, it's almost Christmas and, yeah, I'm a big kid at heart :)

Can we expect to see Santa and his sleigh flying around the x-verse in X4?. :)

If he wants to get shot down, sure! :D

I just don't get hyped for games anymore. Maybe because I'm older now (mid-30's).

However, this is the only game I've really been excited for in many, many years. Come on Egobaby, make X great again!

Gee so if mid 30's is old then there aint no hope for me then I'm a fossil or dinosaur! I'm double your age and I still get excited about new games as not much more to get excited about at my age :P

I preordered the collector's edition from Egosoft, directly.

I'm a Linux user and Egosoft has been good at Linux support. I'll be waiting till that Linux release for X4 is in beta or ready. Looking forward to it.

He said older, not old, however, I do understand your sentiment. At 54 years young, and taking some really strong medications due to nerve damage in my spine, I get annoyed with folks in their 30's claiming they are now old, and cant play certain games well because they are getting too slow, or any number of other excuses attributed to advancing age.
