... i'm a little bit confused about the split taipan, because i cant open and view the ship with xmodels3Dviever
=> the program will freeze when it trys to open ...\objects\ships\XTC\props\xtc_split_hangar_scene
... so i tried to find the file in my installation and ... it is nowhere !?
// i'm playing x3tc3.2 + XTC2.2 (cat/dat 14 + 15 + 16)
my question is: am i the only one that has misses this file or has someone forgotten to put the file in cat/dat 16 ??
ps: i assume those "colission boxes" are not enabled in the standard xtc game, right ?! (scene-path = ...\col\..., but there is only a folder named "col_off")
what are the good 4 ??
To err is human. To really foul things up you need a computer.
Irren ist menschlich. Aber wenn man richtig Fehler machen will, braucht man einen Computer.
I had to stop playing XTC 2.2a as it became too slow about 10 days gametime in (just like it did in my previous XTC 2.2a playthrough). Still, I had some great moments toward the end with a couple of freshly acquired M2s, kicking the Yaki out of their home sector and keeping them out with a Ring of Fire setup at the gate, not letting any Kha'ak/Xenon spawned shipyard establish in the Unknown sectors, etc so I'm not too frustrated about this issue.
I don't know why the game gets so slow, I used FRAPS to display the FPS (no recording) and these are the numbers I get:
- new game ("sharp dealer" starting sector Sirius II): FPS 400+, SETA 10x FPS: 120+
- late game (in an empty sector): FPS 100+, SETA 10x FPS: 8-10
My hardware configuration should be decent: i5 3570k OC-ed to 4.4ghz, Nvidia GTX 780
It's the SETA FPS that basically makes it useless at this point, the game is just way too slow to use it. I wonder if this is just general X3TC late game performance woes or something to do with this mod specifically. To test that, I've started playing Litcube's Universe and will see how it behaves around the time I have the same number of assets (traders, complexes, etc) going.
Anyway, thanks for this great mod, IMO it offers the best combat experience in an X3 game so far, I love what the authors did to the lasers, missiles and ship balancing.

Have you tried some of the optimization options present ingame? Like disabling civilian ships, specifically.
There is going to be a large difference in performance between the beginning of the game vs. the end just simply because there is 4 times as many sectors and ships flying around then. That's not something that can be avoided. But it shouldn't get that low by the end generally.
Yeah, I haven't been able to register on X-Universe Forums for months, they don't send the registration email (tried with multiple emails, checked in the Spam folder). In order to contact the "owner" you have to be registered, how silly.

What is the problem exactly with browsing the thexuniverse.com forums? I can browse them just fine without being logged in (I don't even have an account there).

Using the Contact us form you should be able to send a message to the Site Administrator without being registered.
"We've noticed a few users are having problem receiving emails from TXU. If you have a Gmail, Hotmail, Live, Yahoo, AOL or other similar online webmail, check that your junk mail filter isn't reading TXU as Junk Mail.
At the moment, some of the above email addresses are also bouncing our activation emails, particularly Hotmail. We are working a way to remedy this problem, but would suggest using regular email addresses and not webmail for the time being."
I can confirm that browsing the site works for me with and without being loggeed in.
@zazie, yes, I've seen that... months ago. And for all I know it was posted months earlier. As for their "regular email addresses" request, I'm not sure if that's a quote from the last decade or a joke, "regular" (as in, what most people have/use day to day) email address IS free email address and has been so for years now. Nobody uses ISP email addresses anymore other than people that have gotten used to them years back. And I won't use my work address for non-work stuff. I've checked the Spam folder like I said and there is nothing there and I've tried different email addresses (including a non-free one) and did not receive anything.
This is especially annoying because their site asks you to login after browsing a few topics (usually the way it happens, if the first Google search takes me there, it opens OK, then if I search for something else and it also takes me there they prompt for me to login). How can I login when I can't even register, silly people.
@X2-Illuminatus, thanks, I'll try that form.

Aye, exactly that. It's a very strange system to have.
You can browse a few topics fine, but eventually you'll be asked to sign in, it also seems to be random in terms of the amount of topics you browse.
Having a problem, using steam version, made a copy in steam folder so i'm installing the mod into the copied folder. I installed the mod, installed the patch but I still only get vanilla tc when I start the game.
That's because the executable file (.exe) in the copied folder still points to the X3TC Steam directory. To get a Non-Steam X3TC.exe, download the 3.1.1 -> 3.2 Patch and extract it to an empty folder. Afterwards copy the X3TC.exe to your copied Steam folder and start the game with it.
Hi everyone, I'm loving this mod (using 2.2) but I have now run into the same issue twice regarding factory complexes. I just purchased a terran silicon mine, crystal fab, 2 complex construction kits, and a power plant and wanted to put them all into Veiled Memories.
This worked fine and the first complex construction kit connected the power plant and the crystal fab without a hitch. however, when I moved the mine into place to connect it too, the second complex construction kit did not let me select the mine. At all.
All stations are well within range of each other, and I have tried it both with and without the Factory Complex Constructor script. I have nothing else installed. Any ideas? Thanks!
XTC takes place in its own part of the universe, which is one of its main selling points. Not only there is no Earth but there no old universe sectors.
