I read this so I went to get a construction urv for it, but I noticed that it already has 15 on it. I even have an engineer on my ship, but it is getting rather damaged don't seem to be repairing. Also I have no clue how to get those construction/repair drones on the capital ship (works for your own only) - which are said by Bernd to be needed.
Also the manual is a joke on this matter (not that one could expect much from a 56-page document which has 50% stuff that's utterly non-informative), not explaining anything in regards to such non-obvious basics.
Egosoft, how about some explaination on how repairs work ?
Edit: The ship dealer says I can repair it for 52,140k Cr. And all I did was do a couple of medium patrol and kill missions for around 30k Cr.

you can repair your ship in the shipyard. You've to find the npc that can built the same ship, so you've the option to repair or upgrade.markdb92 wrote:I want to repair them so I can use them but you cant repair capital ships
So I forced to sell them for cash.
The capital ships in the story mode are how you say buged so you have to sell them too. Ie cant talk the captain when he is my squad so we can jump somewhere and cant fire them.

Didn't fix anything for me. Taranis is still stuck without engines, even though there is a 3 star engineer abord.bluesme wrote:Check out the update thread:

When did they fix that? Last i checked, the shipyard would take your money, but not repair a single % hull damage.Darrosquall wrote:

unfortunatly if your captured ship has no engines and no construction drone you wont be able to do anything
engines are required to go to repair hull/turret/shield at a shipyard
and construction drones are required with an engineer to repair engines and jumpdrive

How about Xenon Capital ships? Xenon K Destroyers are capital class but do not have docking bays AND most important it works as a fighter class, as in it requires a Pilot(I cant even transfer the pilot to it actually, this part might be bugged). It does not require a Captain, no engineers and Defense Officers.... LOL!!!! I dunno how the K can be created as such!!!! They are board able but unusable by default!!! Its not bugged.

But I would assume you can repair them through an engineer, much like the Skunk.
Since 1.14 I am able to capture capships, and I am selling them with a nice profit

You need at least some veterans it seems if you want a good chance to finish your boarding. I capped first a taranis (not the one from the campaign) with about 30 regular and 20 veteran then sold it for 28m, I replaced all the regular with 30 veteran and 20 elite and captured and arawn then sold it for 51 million, now I dont know what to do with all that money, I have trade ships that are blind, stations that dont work, not sure if I want to get more of those.

After boarding the ship, Put the captain, engineering, and defense officer on the ship.
Repairs will take a while and I mean a while with the engineer. As long as the engineer is on board, it will get repaired in time.
If you want command the ship, you have to have a captain.
Defense officer will slow anyone down from destroying it.
Wait for the engines to become alive and go to the shipyard and have it repaired.
btw, when I mean a while, try like playing for an hour or so...
