I did however changed it to my liking:
I just completely added your files into the game itself by editing the X-universe map, adding your sectors and adding the sector-descriptions to another file, really nice work. This way at game-start all the ships, civs, militairy etc are there from the start, now the sectors are more lively from the start. Just wondering how to make this a non-flat map. Tried though, sectors were there, but not shown on map, after adding the 00749.bpd file they are shown, but now the X-universe map is flat. I guess I have to live with that.
Hope you don't mind, it's just for personal use. Thanx again for this, great work.
well, that's great! i didn't add new sectors to the "normal" map since people use many different mods, with different maps and i mean... who would keep track of that? i'd have to maintain 3-4 maps all the time.
having empty sectors for 3-4 hours is a good price to pay for having higher compatiblity.
regarding the flat map... well, you can't really do much. i'm to lazy to do a proper model for it (learn how to model it, then do it), and creating a flat map is really easy (the tool i used is mentioned in OP and it is great).
the issue with sectors not showing is that 00749 has to contain every existing sector... otherwise, they just don't show. the unfocused jump drive sector is one such example. it existst in map file, but not in 00749 and so it is not shown on the galaxy map.
if i wanted to have all sectors shown, i'd have to make a map file with all posible sectors connected, and then make bod file for that. right now, that just seems like too much work.
