Thx, but no thx.
I don't want to discuss Steam - it's pointless.
But you can help me easily.
Offer the updates - all of them - as a download from this site.
Just like you did for the past decade . .

Can't be that hard, now can it ?

Patches for non-Steam games are available from this site. As per this FAQ entry patches for Steam-only games will not be made available here. Some of the reasons are covered in this FAQ entry. Funnily enough, that's why I directed you to the Steam FAQ.

Told ya, it's pointless. ;)

What bothers me is that updates can only be obtained through the Steam client.
They don't offer a download page.
Maybe I should write to Gabe . .

Solving riddles gets in the way of making money to build up assets to equip your empire

Hi,

Been away for quite some time so I missed the 2.5 and 2.5.1 Steam updates.

As I modify my game (XRM + loads of scripts) I started using the supplied non-Steam .exe for AP 2.0 as it made managing several modded instances easier. I notice the non-Steam .exe is still version 2.0, can someone confirm that there have been NO .exe changes for the 2.5 and 2.5.1 updates please?

I could test things of course, but likely bugs may well be obscure and only occur after hours of play, plus it's fairly time consuming to re-create my modded game from a clean Steam original.

If anyone has been successfully using the non-Steam 2.0 .exe with AP 2.5.1 for some time then please do let me know.

Thanks,

Scoob.

i can personally confirm that it works through the use of it with an XRM install with 2.5. There are a few moderator post that also state that it works. Not sure where I seen those post however, perhaps in the tech support forum.

Hi Sinxar,

Thanks for confirming that... I've seen a few posts that ask the question, but none that had confirmation. Still, I've been away from X for quite some time so there's lots I've missed.

Cheers,

Scoob.

Is there any possibility of the 2.5 changes/updates being passed to Virtual Programming for us Mac users?

I'll check when I next see the relevant person, but I'm pretty sure the changes were passed on to some time ago. :)
