still it'd be good if you could select the type of potion you knew and the ingredients required (again that you knew) were listed on the r/h side..
Like for a restore health-
Blisterwort
Blue flower
Wheat
thus even if you didn't have it you knew what to search for.
(cause I don't look at the uses for the ingredients all the time, after experimenting I just want to know what ingredients are need to make a certain potion I know of)

Didn't say skill level, I said value, as in cash value.Geggo wrote:Skill level doesn't seem to factor in as much as the type of potion.bobxii wrote:Its all dependent on the value of the potion you create.
This means that enchanted gear will help you level up faster!
Meaning you won't be getting whole lot out of healing potions at any level. But even at beginning slow, invisibility and 2h fortify potions will be worth fortunes. (usually even if they have negative side effects)

Excellent point. The other thing i find annoying is when experimenting you can't see what the known effects on the 3rd optional ingredient are.Snowship wrote:still it'd be good if you could select the type of potion you knew and the ingredients required (again that you knew) were listed on the r/h side..

when you're experimenting with a new ingredient I can understand not knowing what the 3rd ingredient will do. But (correct me if I'm wrong, at work atm) once you know all the ingredients, with the 3rd one it'll show the addition effect in the potions description?

No what i mean is you can't see what effects it has that you've already discovered. What i normally like to do is make a potion i know will work, and throw in an extra ingredient to see if any new effects turn up. But there's no point trying something that a) you've already tried or b) that you've already discovered all the effects of. You can see the effects already known for the first two ingredients as you select them, but for some reason not the third ingredient.

I've added a bunch of mods, mostly just fun stuff like reskinned armours and weapons and magic rebalancing, but was quite blown away by the difference the 'Realistic lighting' mod has on gameplay. Dungeons and caves are truly dark and dingy, requiring the use of a torch to properly search - which in itself means you have to consider not being stealthy.
Some people may see this as an annoyance that slows the gameplay down but how realistic is it to walk into a cave and spot things in all the nooks and crannies WITHOUT a genuine light source?
It has actually made dungeon/cave exploration more tense and exciting and, dare I say it, more immersive. Added to this the nights are way darker with much reduced visibilty, making travelling outdoors by night an exercise in caution and good planning.
Looking at the mods available, principally on Skyrim Nexus, it amazes me that so many people have enhanced the game in so many ways and on so many levels. Almost makes the vanilla version look bad, which is a little unfair on Bethesda I guess.
Love this game!

Just you wait until they get the Construction Kit for skyrim Icky
And thanks for the heads up, was waiting for a mod like realistic lighting so that I didn't have to play skyrim with the brightness at a minimum just so it wasn't constantly daylight in dungeons.

Well I am 287 hours in (!!) and only just getting to grips with adding mods (not being a coder myself). On the Skyrim Nexus site it looks like there are a couple of ways to go - one being FXAA post process injector thingy, and the other the rather simple lighting adjuster wot I mentioned
As said, 287 hours in and I am still finding new locations. Now that's what I call value for money!
Does anyone else get that sense of real strangeness when exploring dwemer ruins? <shudders>

Brylena's body is perfect just the way it is! In fact, if I could change anything about her, it would be the time I am honored to spend in her delightful company ...
(psst ... I might also whisper that the menace of her scowl is unmatched in all of Skyrim ...)
What's that dear? I was just talking about your eyes, sweetie. Unmatched in all of Skyrim!
(Uh oh ...)

Facebook? Video? In Tamriel?
I played Skyrim on my cousin's Xbox and I found the UI that ships with the game actually works very well with a controller.
Eh... This probably isn't going to be received well on these forums:Snowship wrote:For PC there's 2 UI mods atm, if you're on console you're SOL

Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

To be fair, I think it works fine using they keyboard on the most part, it's just the darn skills/perks bit that's getting annoying on the PC no matter what I do.KloHunt3r wrote:Facebook? Video? In Tamriel?
