Great, so I would re-install the game and patches, then XTC and then any mods? Btw, do you use any or have any favorites?

Using a better turret script is common, Mars is pretty good (and compatible)
Also the scripts from lucike that you can also find in the bonus pack (DO NOT USE THE BONUS PACK!, but the updated version that you can find on his site, check out the specific threads in S&M for a link).

Trickmov's sector take over will work with XTC as well. There are two STO scripts on the forum now, so make sure it's Trickmov's one you use.

I was wondering to download this, will it be classed as modified. If I'm right you cant use this with Beta patches just installled 3.2 patch beta on Devnet Y/N ?

To restate for the 90th time including the very first post, you must use a TC v3.1 install (not Albion Prelude) and it will obviously mark the game as Modified. You won't be able to play Vanilla with that install any more, and most other mods are incompatible with XTC. Your XTC v1.2a saves will not carry over when XTC v2 is released.

I apologize in advance for my question, but... any news about the release schedule of XTC 2.0?

I'm a new member of this awesome community, and when I saw this project for the first time, I was so impressed that I decided to play my first walkthrough in X3 modded with XTC!

Call me crazy, if you want :D

Couple of questions, are the equipment docks etc meant to be auto restocked and not buy weapons/missiles they don't sell? Because that last one's a pain when you've been killing pirates/xenon and getting loot, and don't yet have teh cash for a ship to sell off with to get rid of said loot.

Otherwise I managed to copy and disinfect my TC install and get this ever awesome mod working, with a very lucky failed mission leaving me with two bailed Baldrics :D

IIRC intended but can be switched off (or on again, depending on how you see it) in the configuration menu.

Sweet and thanks, because it's making outfitting ships way too easy, and gets in the way of my usual money minting missile complexes :D

And I'm loving the loot system.

not sure why but all races hate me other then argon.... I'm doing the argon start.

is this suppose to happen?

oh ya... well its weird cause only the military ships went red and now their back to being Blue

That's normal.

Basically for all but the Teladi you don't have core sector rights and docking rights, except for the Terrans (I think you can dock @renegade, you just can't trade) so you'll need to do a bunch of missions to raise your rep.

Escorts and deliver ship missions work pretty well, with escort missions being slightly bugged as failing it wont result in a huge rep lose and as long as the pirates/kha'ak/xenon spawn in that race's sector you can get a large net gain at lower ranks. Otherwise check station missions for one's being offered by paranids.

btw, if you're wanting to make a lot of money and have about half a mill spare crystal fabs are usually stocked fully up for the first 1-2 days in game, with SP's paying 1900 credits for them @zero stock :D

Also silicon's in short supply so mobile mining can be very, very lucrative.

oh geez! bunch of missions shoot me now!!!

never did mobile mining I'll have to check it out! how many is recommended?

Also I downloaded the manual and my Manual ADD kicked in shortly after but I tried.... but is there a plot for anything? or is it sandbox mod do as you will and pick a side???

I also read that the Races will begin to take sectors over.... Do they start doing that or do they wait a certain amount of time before that happens to let the player build up a little?

and drone Carriers........ :D

It's all sandboxed until 2.0 go live, aside from one plot line that'll net you an ubber ship.

As for getting your race rank up, taxi missions in a kestrel should do the trick or trading mission, though there's a slight bug with some core sector ships staying red even after you've got a high enough rank. And depending on your difficulty setting, there may, or may not be some xenon P's wandering about the place that can be dispatched by hit, strafe n run tactics in an M4.

Have another question... I did check manual before coming here.

Regarding the Yaki, Pirate Plugins when going to Gameplay>Artificial Life settings. I go to click on them to make it go from No to Yes it does not go. Is there something I may have done wrong?

After quite a few hours of trading, fighting, exploring and building mines I wanted to create a nice money-making SpaceflyFarm complex in Split space... Only to find out that you can't create complexes with SpaceflyFarms :(

I also have a question about the Drone-carriers. Namely: WTF!?

Does anyone ever use those things for sector-patrol or anything else but wasting credits? Every drone it builds costs about 750k - 1000k and the drones seem to vaporize whenever they encounter a simple pirate patrol. The drone-carrier itself isn't much better at staying alive.

When you have the choice between a Tiger or Panther (are the same price) go for the Tiger. Way cheaper and way more lethal. The Panther costs an additional 24 million because of the drones.... plus every drone that needs to be replaced costs another million.

I hope 2.0 is released soon. I love this mod =)
