[AP Bug] Terran OOS Behavior
Humble Merchant start, Terran Citizen (they are friendly to me)
When I am in a Terran sector both Terrans and ATF are friendly. Once I leave, they immediately attack my ships (such as Universe Traders).
Interestingly, they will only attack if they are "new" ships I have never seen. If I enter a Terran sector and I am within comm range of a Terran/ATF vessel, that ship will not attack any of my ships OOS. If a new ship spawns in that sector then it will be hostile until I "calm" it down by visiting the sector.
This is incredibly annoying to babysit these sector to ensure my UTs and CAs can freely trade.
Update: I am Marshall of Mars now, so this certainly should not be happening still.

There's relationship and notoriety between races, but a (partially) independant one for each ship (as I understand). You might do something to displease one ship and that ship might attack you but others of same race may not. When you're somewhere between neutral and total enemy, there are various stages that you go through where some ships attack you and some not. It depends on lots of things. Core sector? How close your ship is to theirs? Agression level of the pilot in other ship? Also you need to check that the turrets in your ships are not set to kill all enemies. Although Terran may not attack you they may still be "officially" enemy, so your turrets in this case might be picking a fight with any Terran ship they fly near. In which case they'll get attacked right back. If you want to fly your ships through (slightly) enemy sectors and you're not meaning to attack them, set your ships relationship with races to reflect this. Check that setting for "enemy if other dude sees me as enemy" or whatever is set to no. And it may be safer in any case to leave your TS turrets on "Protect ship" rather than attack all enemies.
When you have attacked a ship but you don't want to displease that race, apologise to the captain of the ship(s) as soon as you can. Preferably before you leave the sector.

@Cycrow, I can confirm hostile Terrans in non-war zones. This should not be justified anyway. The Argon do no attack my vessels, and I am now a Planetary Senator...there is no reason for this to happen. This should definitely be considered a bug and fixed.
I understand the "war-zone" concept but they should still be able to distinguished between friend and foe. Also, it's not like I am purposefully building or sending ships into warzones; it's always my Universe traders that get rushed at the gates.
Interestingly, it are always the d*** Terran Katanas that turn red.

@ChristensenCT, why don't you upload one of your saves and provide the link. With all the experienced and generous (of their time) guys we have here that should get to the heart of the matter very quickly. If there is a bug, you've got maybe 100 times the chance of devs bothering to look at it if you provide good solid evidence. A save just by itself can achieve that in minutes.ChristensenCT wrote:This should definitely be considered a bug and fixed.

All of your ships have Terran and ATF relationships set to enemy. The numeric value (viewable only when you enable the Script Editor and select additional info) is -1,000,000. I changed the setting in command console for Terran and ATF to Friend, and while this appeared to work, the numeric value for your ship against Terran and ATF stayed at -1,000,000:ChristensenCT wrote:@glenmcd Here a link to my latest save game; I don't think anyone will want to look at it though haha. http://www.filedropper.com/x13

Hope that helps.

I set all my ships as enemy to ATF and Terran so they might stop docking at their stations. So what was the actual fix?
This is becoming pretty aggravating. I can't even move the ships I buy from Terran space without them being shot down. You'd think they would treat the Hero of Sol a little better.

Okay well I see the setting to enemy on your ships as being a problem if you want to stay friendly with Terran and ATF. And regarding a numeric notoriety of -1,000,000 but still being Friend that doesn't make sense to me. I know one is notoriety and the other is relationship, but this combination isn't something I'm used to seeing in TC.ChristensenCT wrote:I set all my ships as enemy to ATF and Terran so they might stop docking at their stations. I see that your race notoriety with Terran is very high, but with ATF is below zero. That may be because of the skirmishes you mentioned.
I'd be looking for some other way of preventing your ships from entering Terran / ATF space other than to tell them that they are enemies. Maybe the new stuff in the AP Bonus Pack can do this.

I just noticed some strange behavior: if I drop a satellite in the sector, the Terran ships will keep flashing from red to blue over and over again.
Update: My Universe traders still wander into the warzones/terran sectors even though I have them on the MK3 Blacklist...the game is pretty unplayable at the moment. I am constantly loading my quicksaves because my ships are being killed by terrans every 5 minutes.

Same problem
Hi everybody,
I have the same problem. Looking into the sector OOS I can watch when normal blue Terran ships suddenly turn red, despite being like 15km away from my ship and even though my race rank is okay. This is really annoying...
Cheers,
spalan
