I'm gonna need some help, as I'm half going crazy trying to figure it out.
So I have this EC complex, almost full loop with only the silicon mine missing. There are two things I can't for life get to work...
Firstly, using the command console of the station, I set Energy Cells from intermediate to product. Second, on all the CAG ships the Sell Product function is on 20% and the Sell Products Freighter cargo bay on 30%. The ships keep making the EC complex go empty on EC, stopping Argnu Beef/Cahoona and Crystal production, very annoying. I want them to stop at 20%, I set that function at that level for a reason. If it's not at least 20% full, I want them to do nothing (or participate in the other thing). And when it's at 20%, I want them to take as much (not what's over 20%) as they can to the station they're gonna sell EC to.
Screw the rationale that it's better to run than to wait. It's better to sell as much EC as they can to a station than to sell only 10% of the target stations cargo space.
The other thing, I noticed that buying Argnu Beef / Cahoonas cheaply from the NPC I can then sell them to the NPC again from near max price. So I set Purchasing Intermediates at 70% and Selling Intermediate Products to 30%. But the CAGs aren't trading at full capacity. They're buying my stock full, but refuse to sell down to 30%. I read to safeguard production??? Why? It's sold down to 30%, that's to safeguard production!
So can someone tell me how to set the CAGs up to a) not sell below 20% EC and to actively trade intermediates?

Problem with filter
I have question about global configuration. Why filter through name of ship doesn't work? For example, I have 2 ships: first from Silicon Mine, second from Teladanium Foundry. I have named one ship as Silicon Mine I, another as Teladanium I. If I write in filter "Silicon" and send some settings, both ships receive this settings. But only first must receive it. May be, I do something wrongly. Please help me. Script is from bonuspack.

My CAG won't even do the simplest task.. spent last 2 days trying to configure it and I AM REALLY FRUSTRATED NOW!!!!!!
I have a large SPP in Circle of Labour that needs crystals.
In Omicron Lyrae (1 jump away) there is a Crystal Fab almost full with crystals.
I set the CAG to shopper, add ware crystals, all other settings to default.. does not work..
It just stays in the SPP (which is set as homebase) and is on stand by..
What can I do???

Simplest possible way to put it to work:Cosmin wrote:My CAG won't even do the simplest task.. spent last 2 days trying to configure it and I AM REALLY FRUSTRATED NOW!!!!!!

1) Assing a home base (the SPP), "Start Commercial Agent" and _EVERYTHING DEFAULT_. That will make the ship to sell the ecells as well, when it gets enough rank.
2) Money, Money, Money, Money, on that SPP. Crystals are expensive. Remember to NOT limit the jump range too short (like 0

3) Also make sure you do not have enemy contacts within the sector; Can't be absolutely certain, but I recall the ships refusing to launch if hostiles are too nearby.
Extra: Set the trader to use homebase funds for trainings. After that, the status of the ship (if it is at the SPP already) should be "CAG on standby..." and after a while it should go to "Docking at <target station where the crystals are bought from>". If you don't get the ship's status to "CAG on Standby" first, or it stays at "None", you've obviously done something wrong. "Idle" can mean that you do not have money at the station which CAG needs to actually do something

May I ask a question? I'm a little bit lost here.
I usually had big trade empires, never got into building stations and such. But in AP, there are SEVERE supply problems, so I throw some mines here and there to keep the production going.
After this, I installed the bonus pack for AP, everything in it. I got CAG, CLSI/II. But as you might imagine, I'm "overwhelmed" with more settings.
Anyway, long story short, I've set up 4 CAGs going, 1 CLS in standby. I don't understand the importance/requirement of CLS so far. Please correct me if I'm wrong:
CAGs are there to "take care of it's homebase station", right? Buying resources, selling products, etc... 4 of my CAGs are currently busy loading the station up with ECells, so I guess they'll actually start selling some stuff when they advance in their careers.
My question about this part is, how much do they buy/sell for? I set ECell buying price (on my mine, I mean) to 12, but CAGs stopped working. Then I set it to 16, they now continue to work. So, if I'm to assume that, CAGs try to buy at/below, and try to sell at/above the prices you set on their home station? Just this answer would clarify a lot of questions on my mind.

Uhm... No, they don't o_O Maybe you got a quirk of sorts. I use my CAG's pretty much like this: Buy a TS, fill it with eCells and 25MJ shields and fly it to Legend's Home, OTAS Shipyard.
Then I buy a ton of TS's from the OTAS (Mistrals, ofc) and if there's shields around, I shield 'em all. If I'm rich, buying like 10 Mistrals at the same time, I fill them up with shields. Like literally, every last one of 'em gets 10 shields if there's 10 in the market, meaning you got 100 shields instead of 10
good way to make some hard profit btw!
Then I just load the TS's with eCells and proper amount of shields and then sent 'em to get other stuff, like engine boost, weapons etc. Then I usually order them to "Return Home" after assigning home base, so they clearly remember to use their prestigeous Jumpdrive - for some reason starting CAG at some times don't use the JD, even if enough eCells are in the TS to fuel the jump, but telling the TS to "Return Home" always works if homebase is within JD range.
Anyway, after the TS is in the same sector than it's homebase, I just start CAG. Never had any issues; the first thing it does is in any case "Return Home".

The version in the X3AP bonuspackage is still the old version from the TC BP, so the scripts are not adjusted to make use of the jump beacons.
Would you please give us more details about your current setup? I.e. which game are you playing (X3TC or X3AP), what trade ships do you use, what is their homebase?daishi5 wrote:Every time I tell my ships to start Commercial Representation, it erases their homebase settings. Any idea what I can do to make them work?
