i probably should note that according to all the available info on the game suggests that a free for all start is more likely than a racial start because the gate system got screwed up and that the different races now have divisions in them(look at the gamescom 2011 presentation videos) also i remember reading that the challenge of XRB is based on surviving this now broken universe. so theoretically an all out annialation scenarion is a viable chose. and according to available info the universe is now incredily vast.

Paranid - You are the weakest link. Good bye.
Yes I'd commit genocide without a second's thought if it meant being rid of the Paranid. If it weren't for the Hyperion then I would have absolutely no use for them and even then it's not a big sacrifice for a Paranid free universe.

Great idea.Logain Abler wrote:pjknibbs wrote:No, I wouldn't, and frankly I don't see it becoming an option in the first place--it would be like saying that Lord Alan Sugar could get together an army and wipe out the French; it's ridiculous.
Not that bad an idea, more so if your Welsh
LA
But he best would be to be able to be part of a race and do it yourself.
French BTW

Sure Lord Alan Sugar might seem like a big company holder. But it is small in comparison to the french government. And its small in comparison to the players assets in the X universe.pjknibbs wrote:No, I wouldn't, and frankly I don't see it becoming an option in the first place--it would be like saying that Lord Alan Sugar could get together an army and wipe out the French; it's ridiculous.
If a player builds a corperation that is 10 times larger then the Argons governmnet why should he not have the ability to challange the Argons?
If a player has the ability to clear an entire sector why not give him the ability to claim it for himself? Its a much worse situation to have the player clear the sector and then have randomly appearing ships and structures that come from nowhere.
If you dont want players to be able to kill off the races, make it so the players cannot kill off all the races assets. Make it so the player cannot clear sectors. I am not saying make the structures invulneralbe, that would be worse. Make it so the races militaries are that much stronger then the players.
Lord allan would easily be able to gather an army and destroy the french in the X universe. Becouse the French race in the X universe would not fight back.other then a few small skrimishes that Allans armies would run right over. And I am not just saying that becouse they are french. I am saying that becouse the X universes governments do not fight back, other then reappearing out of nothing.

I agree and why I'm not a fan of player sector takeover scripts!pjknibbs wrote:No, I wouldn't, and frankly I don't see it becoming an option in the first place--it would be like saying that Lord Alan Sugar could get together an army and wipe out the French; it's ridiculous.
What happens to the millions living on the planet? How do you administer a galactic empire with your payroll of a few hundred employees?

Its quite simple really, You set a tax rate. They pay it you get more money. However they could opt to not pay it. Ofcourse in that situation, they form guerilla attacks, till you orbitally bombard them back to the stone age. Of course then you no longer get new recuits or taxes from them.robalexhall wrote: What happens to the millions living on the planet? I would be all for it providing the player is willing to accept the reprecussions.
The other thing is races are sectorized like previous X games, so it wouldnt be as easy to go after 1 race, but even if it was....
As soon as a player destroys 1 item, wether a capitol ship or factory he is now enemy #1 by that race and any other ally of that race and is now being hunted.
Once your location is ID'd then prepare for every warship of that race/area to now start coming after you.
If you want to play evil thats fine but then dont complained if your game is over soon afterwards because the galaxy doesnt like you.
A pirate is one thing, a genocidal maniac is another....
