Nope, i like a race i can continue to fight against and push them back to the brink. Spore got really boring after you wiped out one race... you just started a war with another. But spore has a ton of races in it which means a LONG fight is ahead of you. But X-Games only have a hand full of them... so sooner or later you will be the only one left... and alone. which is boring

well there's always the race members that went pirate, so theoretically they could rebuild fight back and recolonize. it would be an interesting twist considering they'll want revengeBut X-Games only have a hand full of them... so sooner or later you will be the only one left... and alone. which is boring

Territory Campaigns would rock... But I think we need 1st a finnalized gameplay were the different ships and player actions are balanced so the game could offer the player a Real progression in this ultimate form of combat, otherwise the struggle this kind of gameplay should deliver could be easily lost due to unbalances and exploits...
...Sadly XRB has already too many new features to finish in the relatively short period that the suggested release dates seems to hint...
...I would love to have things like this, but they have to be done right... Some modders on XTC has tried it but their attempts always collided with the absurd performance of the player ship piloted 1st hand, the AI vs AI was more or less nice although...
...Maybe on XRB, with the player limited in power he can control 1st hand, modders find a better environment to test Territory Warfare... Just hoping, ofc.

voted yes, BUT
Looong ago when i was like 16 (1996), and i were playing the game ascendancy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ascendancy ... eo_game%29
i never totally annihilated the races. Let them have only one planet and restricted then to that one only, for there bad behavior of war against me
I sure hope that you can annihilat or restict a race for only a small area somehow, for what ever reason people might have.
I for one, DO NOT tolerate aggression towards my empire! That shall and will have concequenses, even it shall take me 1000 hours of play time

The thing that always annoyed me was how easy it was to dominate an entire race.
Let's be honest, it's like a private security firm taking on the u.s army and winning!
A races fleet needs to have teeth to bear, and big ones,
What I'd like to see is if I take the fight to an entire race, I want them to retaliate with bonecrushing might fueled by seething bitter hate, forcing me to fight smart and choose my conflicts carefully as I'n reality, me as a company owner should never be able to take on the combined might of the argon navy I'n a frontal, open space assault.

yeah i want WAR to have real concequenses, for both sides. Like an economy effect for both the player and the race. Like if you ruin there trades, they will suffer when they have to rebuild lost ships

Personally, no, because X games have never been about conquesting against an entire race.
One thing that I would support would be changed relation systems to that when you blow up a race's ships, as opposed to effectively saying "Right, that's it, you're going to have to 3 taxi missions to make up for that!", it'd be more along the lines of hating you forever and attacking with their whole fleet, which would of course be many hundreds of times larger than one the player could hope to build.

To me the best part of the X games is the freedom to make the game what you want... I too want to be able to dominate and somehow control territory but first, like a poster said above, I want resources to matter... I don't like games where the computer gets infinite resources to build their ships and empire... I think this in turn would help the economy of the game, especially at the raw material level.
Then you could do things like hire spies, and use computer viruses to find out how many resources your enemy has, or figure out where their most valuable assets lie, then when you take that resource out you could go back and see their supply drop. Choke the enemy and force them to declare peace.
