I installed the latest XTC and the hotfix, and in a different thread linked a few pages back there was some code that I was meant to put into a text file to stop the DLC running.

I made the text file, seemed like the installation went find and everything.

So I started the game (as Samuel Jackson, naturally), but I just got the ingame message telling me to go check out Harmony of Perpetuity.

I figure if the DLC-disable-file was working, I wouldn't have gotten that message.

Has it all gone wrong? How do I sort this out?

Thanks!

Edit: Also, tempted to install the only recommended thing, STO. There going to be any problems with this? Anything else a real must-have mod?
Really, nobody can help with this? :(

For those of us who have purchased X3:TC on Steam, but do NOT have the DLC, will this mod still work for us?

I haven't tried 1.2, but 1.1 worked for me. I set steam to not auto update X3tc (right click X3tc in library- properties- updates).

i have reinstalled x3 and xtc and installed the xtended 1.2a and it still doesnt work.

There seems to be two 1.2a downloads. The one only contains the 1.2a fixe(s), the other contains the complete XTC. So, make sure you downloaded and installed the right one.
Also, with a more detailed descriptions, what doesn't work, someone with more knowledge of the XTC might be able to help you.

xtended mod

ok. i have x3 reunion and i have x3 terran conflict on my computer. i have updates and bonus pack for both x3 and x3terran conflict 3.1. i also had installed xtended 1.1. then i installed the update for xtended 1.2a tryed to play it and xtended 1.1 still came up in the game nothing changed. so then i wiped all the updates and wiped off x3 and x3xtc. i reinstalled them and then i installed the xtended mod 1.2a full install and it still doesnt work. it comes up with x3 terran conflict 3.1. so no matter which mod version i put on there only xtended 1.1 will. i have even tryed installing 1.2a full install without putting xtnended 1.1 on.

I recently restarted the XTC game myself after having taken it out for a while. I reinstalled the game from disk,then updated to 3.1 and then full install of XTC 1.2a.everything went right in, perfect and ran. It still has some of the old bugs but I guess they'll never leave, like the three second pauses and sound freeze every few minutes, read somewhere that it might have been from engine flares, but don't know.

After I started a new game, I then got the marine repairs and put that in, with the newest plugin manager and salvage claim suite..and its working great or at least good, the number comes on screen when I start a game and its green and everything is working for me,so other than the old pause and jerk mine works ok. :roll:

Did you install it in the correct folder? You need to install into the TC folder as it overwrites alot of TC content.

^This. I ran into the same issue when 1.2a first came out. Turned out that the installer was making a new 'Terran Conflict' folder under 'Games', instead of sending it to the one that already existed in 'Program Files'.

In what way do u mean cockpits?

If ure adding custom ships XTM handles ships in the same way X3:TC does except the for a few bits like wares types, laser types, missle types, lists and the shield types. Model handling has remained unchanged since X3R or even X2.

the tcockpits file works as it did in x3. I not sure what the new entries are for laser types but i always set them to -1 (all lasers) and choose in the game how i want to equip each ship.

No we haven't added any cockpits. There is a mod that has a XTC version available, but last time I stumbled across it, it had an old Tships version still.

shouldent of got X3 TC on steam :P like me, my game is steam free and i am freeeee to install any mod i want, an it feels goooooood :P

I bought the steam version a year ago and mods worked fine before this DLC came out. I bought X3 on steam because they dont sell it retail here.
