Right well with my version you just drop it in the maps folder. However if you have visited the sector already you'll need to run h2o's script from the script editor (I don't know how as I'm no scriptor) to reset that particular sector ;)

I have not attempted to enter Unknown (20,5) butmy version of X3:TC does not have a "maps" folder :evil:
I heard about "Packed vs. Unpacked", I have .cat & .dat files (up to #12).

When I installed Immersive Environments" I did not have a "mods" folder either (made one, it worked, ).

My game does not have an "X3_universe.xml", so it must be in the packed files somewhere.
Trade Hard, Fight Smart, Die Well ( then Reload :D )

create a folder called 'maps' in there (like you did with mods) and place my uploaded x3_universe.xml in there. It'll override the one in the files and as it's Connary's file with just the planet removed (so you don't insta-die in that sector) it's fully RC1 compatible. Also has the Home of Light Piano track from X3:R enabled :)

If you have been to Home of Light already you can either start a new game or use h2o.AvA's script to get it to change audio track ;)

This mod looks great!

But I have some questions:

1. I already started a new game. Can I just install this mod and it will work with my new game, with the exception being that I have no new music?
2. I use the X-Tra Ship/Station mod - Will it work with it, or can I only use one of them?

Use background mod or X-tra sphippack as fake patch, while the other as normal mod or fake patch too.
If you don't know what's the fake patch then do some reserch in modding forum.

You can fake patch the backgrounds in, however if connary changed the background's number in x3_universe.xml then it wont work as intended.
You will have the new backgrounds but they will be in the wrong sectors.

Its looking good, but your night lights on planets need work

[EDIT]: Found error in Cloudbase South-East. The glowing nebula (apparently lit by a star) is infront of the planet.

I don't want to sound rude, but since XTC is near and there is zero chance it would work with this, it isn't so important anymore.

Demending the quality of XTC it would be interesting to have this mod ported to XTC.

Sorry but XTC is in a different universe. I will play XTC but I will still play X:TC too.

I really wait for a stable release of Immersive Environments. This will give the original game a massive atmosphere boost!

No offense but how the heck you've figured it out that it's no longer important anymore. XTC isn't a Ego next game or something, people will still be playing vanilla, trying scripts or just experimenting. If you gave up on playing TC it doesnt mean that others will do the same thing.

By the way, where's connary? I'd like to see updated version of his recent release. These new systems are really gorgeous, dont give up man. There are still many people anticipating for this release. Hope the guy is working :)

I mean Xtended TC mod - that will have completely new galaxy, so this won't work with this mod.

Xtended is natural step, just like XTM for X3:Reunion.

Of course it wont work thats for sure. Nevertheless the original universe is still hanging really tight, supplemented with mods like SRM and scripts makes a very enjoyable game. Despite being a script maniac I haven't gone through all of them, there is still many things to discover.

Sorry but this isn't true. XTM expanded the original X3 universe and was an addon. It was a natural step that's true.
But XTC is not. It has a new universe and doesnt't expand the original game. It's more like a new game than an addon.

The original universe still has it's challenges and I think most players will play both unis. At least I will do.
