*Silently makes a note of the Argon/ Split incompotence in the most recent entry* Now I know that the Superior is the only ship from my fleet that could possibly still be around: the Minotaurs in my fleet would NEVER enter battle with fewer than 500 flail barrage missles! Of course, I hardly ever used Minotaurs because of this, but when I did, entire sectors burnedMaster of the Blade wrote: Anyway, I jump into Kha'ak Sector whateverthenumberisIcan'tbebotheredtorememberit and meet up with a small group of mercenaries flying assorted craft, the largest of which is a Minotaur whose scan results really shouldn't be shown to Jusin ever - no missiles on an M7m.People.
The Phoenix was a good idea, not only because it satiates Krek's craving for big guns, but also because the Kha'ak have stepped up their game: they brought one of their own destroyers to the party. It is dispatched quickly and mercilessly by the Phoenix's PPCs, but not before it frags a Split Cobra which, you guessed it, has no missiles.![]()
Damn doesn't that real-life get in the way...Master of the Blade wrote: I'm suffering X deprivation due to overdose of real life.
Next DiD will be Savage Split, with Cadius' Ship/station pack and Advanced Weapon research mod. I'm already about 3 hours in, but not a lot's happened. Incidentally, the advanced weapon mod may have to go, depending on the effects removing it will have on the game: some of the guns are stupidly powerful (for example, a variant of the PAC, mountable by all ships that can use the PAC can ONE SHOT the 2Mj shielded Jag. I may be a good dogfighter, but that's just ridiculous. Also, these same PACs can do ~40% of 25 Mj in one volley of between 2 and 4 guns. And there are M5s with this sort of firepower. The AI loves picking them to use in turrets, too.).What's the next Did going to be about? I think I'll join that one, probably with the same background.
And by the way...... A captain that good doesn't die that easily! I wouldn't be suprised if you start a new one where you somehow survived this
Personally, I think the Xenon are weak, but the Kha'ak terrify me. I'm suprised that the Kha'ak didn't seem to pose much of a threat for you, but the Xenon did. Than again, everyone has problems with different races the anyone else
Why not? The background of my character will be as the ex-leader of a big clan (the t'Rgt), who was shamed and demoted when he questioned the honour of the war with the Boron, a race who prefer not to fight. (Reasoning: an unwilling or weak foe is not a foe worth killing - it is more honourable to fight a willing and powerful enemy) His fleet is confiscated and he's cast adrift in a Jaguar. I'm not touching reputation at all, so I start with 2nd to lowest rank with Boron and Argon, and neutral with everyone else. As far as I can tell, I'm neutral with Yaki and borderline hostile with pirates. Of course, Xenon and Kha'ak hate me. Your character as he was in this DiD would be welcomed, surely, by this Split, since he's a renowned fighter and tactician. That's one of the two possible things that the background I used in this DiD CAN'T be used with.
*Shrugs*There's just one question:
How is it that you happen to pick the one Split background that fits the background of my character in this DiD before knowing I'd plan to use it again?
