I just started doing this,... was taking me forever to save up for an M7!!!
Now have a pretty good deal going on, 10 or so TS 'miners' from dukes citadel shipyard (seems like they were MADE for this as they come with ore collector and what not installed) whilst my springblossom did the quick fire missile and shoot a few times and they seem to be happily collecting, when they get near full I send another 10 and send the others to shipyard for sale... so far have made the biggest profit of 7.7M from one fully loaded... used up the profits to finally get a thresher,... thinking might go for a boreas afterwards and use them to do that final OFF mission, been driving me nuts cos couldn't complete it in a springblossom with M2+M6's and clusters and clusters and clusters whilst I tried to fight the guardians... think might need to bring a bigger gun (loving the idea of lots of PPC's and FAA flying around the battlefield!)

Great stuff there.... just doing a batch of Nividium mining before doing one of the later OFF missions on my 2.7 Poisioned Paranid start... got four CAGs draining my finances delivering stuff to the Xenon Hub (I have a rule... no complexes before I finnish OFF).
My personal tactic is to task my 3 mining ships (2nd Hand Mercury Haulers that I upgraded and equiped for mobile mining duty) plus my TL to the collecting (when I have ~2000 units in the TL... use Teleport Device to transfer cargo from the TSs periodically (during idle time)... dock the TL at the KE Shipyard... buy a Dolphin Hauler with no upgrades or shields, transfer the 2000 units, and then sell the Dolphin... finally send the TL back to mining duty. Not too tedious and it almost ensures that a steady stream of Nividium is coming in.

roger idea is not bad, mine is a bit more efficient.
i have a TL plus 12 TS (mercury haulers)
when all of then are full i send it back to SY, buy a dozen TS dolphin haulers with cargo upgrades, transfer nividium , sell the dolphins and bring back the workers to their duty .
ARAN should be extremely usefull for mass selling and collecting Nvidium .

Yea we know this method already. Not much of a secret. And how long did it take you to build 1000 factories and 150 ppc factories? Not couple hours I'm sure. Nvidium mining can be started almost immediately with very little capital which is more helpful in the beginning. When you're far into the game that you start building your factories, you should already be making more than you can spend. Why even bother to build 1000 factories?carlpeterson wrote:Guys- Mining Nvidium?? Whats the point. It might be an easy way to make a quick buck at the start. Buy the micro management and ship ordering takes too long for the amount of cash you get back and is NOT worth it. Take my empire over 1000 factories make over 1 Billion in under 2 hours in SETA. How to do it? First find a sector that you can put a massive amount of silicon and ore factories in it (I have a mine on every asteroid in Ore belt). Next make huge complexes with Solar, Cahoona and cattle. Next make a massive amount of PPC complexes. I have in ORE belt alone 180 PPC factories within 6 complexes (30 Each). Now once that all fully automates, simply buy transports, load them up with PPC's (usually about 110ppcs per ship) and sell the WHOLE ship at shipyards. They sell for over $100 million each!! -Kills the idea of a nvidium mining operation!!! -Now back to Q boarding operations

i never disturb my miners.i go there with a dolphin equipped with a transporter and collect nividium from my 10 mercury ships there in kindoms end.then return the dolphin to the ship yard.it takes me about 50 seconds to complete the transaction remotely.also i only use ten because i want to focus more on UT.palm911 wrote:roger idea is not bad, mine is a bit more efficient.

This is all a joke anyway right?
I just went and mined out those 4 roids, for my trouble I got a grand total of 403 nividium and they don't seem to be respawning. I've not even filled one mercury let alone 50.
I used my deimos to snaffle up the nividium and then transported it to a parked merc. I can't see how it can support a steady stream of ships to be filled up and sold like the thread suggests.

i'll bet you 10 usd that using art money is easier.Bothersome wrote:Yeah, that's nothing. I can make <you specify the amount here < 100,000,000,000 credits*> in only about 5 hours of game time.
There are still a couple of exploits that can be applied to make untold amounts of credits. So far, I am the only one that know of them. Well, my brother knows of one of them.
Don't ask me to tell how. That info is worth DOLLARS.

Two Questions:
1) "Art Money"? Please translate.
2) Is there any vanilla way to break(/prevent) the rock respawn without having a TS actually mining/collecting whilst you're IS?
Because I would like to MM all the rocks I find, everywhere, to eliminate them from my map, & improve my framerate, without scripting or losing the income from them, but having a TS mine IS is a good way to lose a TS & it's Cargo in a dense rockfield. Also, I want to be doing the Mining & Management whilst I'm in other sectors doing other things (such as stooging around Terran Space doing their Plots).
NB: To my mind Mobile Mining w/o respawn is neither an exploit nor a cheat, since the pre-existing clusters become a fixed value resource, & the Asteroid respawn thing is obviously a feature since it's been in both X3s (I never got far enough in X2 to try mining).

Cheers, I must remember to be rude to you too when you miss something.Curudan wrote:You were supposed to smash them into gatherable chunks, and have your TS's gather them while you were OOS.
When your ships gather while you are OOS, the rocks will respawn infinitely. Otherwise, they're gone for good.
I honestly don't know how you could have missed this.
*edit*
Where in that first post does it say you have to be OOS.. it only says instruct your TS to collect rocks.. I does NOT then say leave the sector.1. beg, crawl, do your thing to have a few hundred thousand credits, this is usually achievable for most people with one mission in TC.
2. find Argon Prime, buy a mercury, the cheapest, it may go against all you've be taught but the cheapest freighter with minimal shields is all you need to make a fortune.
3. Outfitting.. ore collector, mineral scanner, special command software mk 1, these are essential..
4. command your frieghter to move to kindoms end, either the sector or equiptment dock.
5. get youself to kingdoms end and the position 0,0,1.5, once there you need to find visually nvidium asteroids. there should be at least 4, with 4 mosquito missiles, shoot them and break them up, this is vital to the overall strategy... Drop a satelite so that in future you can easily direct ships to the spot.
6. instruct your freighter to move to sat nav and then once there to collect rocks.
7. once your freighter is full of nvidium then sell it at shipyard and buy as many freighters as you can and start the process again. within a day you should be able to afford 20+ freighters and be on your way to makeing that billion credits.
8. Personally I stop at 20 freighters, issuing commands individually is a pain so limiting the amount of freighters stops you going insane. 3 days at kindoms end has got me 500 mil+, so you can see how 1 bil in 3 days is possible if you have the patience to command individual freighters.
In Reunion the nvidium ran out but in TC it is constant, who needs complex's when you can abuse the roids
"I honestly don't know how you could have missed this" .. there!

In my game once i have broke the asteroids and order my ships (10 Dolphins) to start collecting the nvidium, i left for good from Kingdom's End and i never went back. But, i have been forced to visit the sector two times during my game because some Khaak ships appeared in the sector an i didn't want to risk an attack on my ships. So, I jumped in the sector and i kill them before they reached my ships. After that i jumped out. The nvidium continued to respawn and my ships also continued to do their jobs. Nothing happened. So i don't know for sure which circumstances/parameters really affects when you are in sector.

Supposedly, the respawn happens when the very last chunk of the broken rock is collected and only if you are OOS. Thus, if you have large mining fleet odds of that occuring when you visit the sector for a short time grow.
What I usually do is stop all mining before jumping to the sector, and resume mining after leaving. Did it at least twice (during the Hub and PHQ plot) with 80 miners on the place and the rock hasn't depleted yet. (80 Mercury Haulers = 1 billion credits, makes calculations easier
)
To stop all the miners (unless you have different types of ship mining at the same time) just broadcast to all ships to follow anything (one of ships, the satelite... whatever).
Hope it helps.

oh it's all good. Since the last post I made I've filled 33,000 worth of a mamoth in an "unfocused" sector (while cooking dinner and engaging in phone calls). It's pretty, quiet and stacked full of nividium roids and I can micromanage my factories and traders from here too.
Tip - I have the shuttle docked in my TL and it's been very handy for scouting out the right asteroids and turning them down further once the TL has shattered the station class.
Wish list - wish the mobile drilling system would track faster. it's actually slower than the rate at which the TL turns.
Once it's full I'll jump back to AP dock at the shipyard and buy mercs and sell them again full. Can do all that docked.

According to the guides I read when I was playing Reunion, 1 Hornet missile should turn one Asteroid into 1 debris field, no further breaking required.
Presumably this is still true (& for some reason I keep thing the magic number was 100k, not 200k, so RGWs, Belugas, & Shadows might do it too).
All of which should be much faster than waiting on MDS's.
Edit: Neglected to mention, the Elephant can fire Hornets, the other Commonwealth (incl. Yaki) TLs are listed as being capable firing the Remote Guided Warhead, with the Albatross the only one not also compatible with the Beluga & Hammerhead, & the Terran TLs can both fire the specter which is only 30% more powerful than the Hornet & so presumably has a similar effect.

Nothing wrong with an MDS. You only need to fire once or twice to split a station class asteroid (shows up on sector map). After that you can use any weapon you like to crunch up the smaller rocks. With the missile you still have time to target after it's fired. I've used both and I don't think the MDS is any slower and has the advantage of you can't run out if you forgot to buy more.

Art Money is sort of a trainer that works for all games. It searches the games files or something like that for your current game values (like cash or food) and then you can edit those values. I tried it on TC and it works! I cheated in a billion credits without getting the modified tagSolomon Short wrote:Two Questions:
