X2 Economy

Post by WarpPig »

In what ways should X2's economy reflect technological advances?

Thought this might be fun for a while...

I agree, it would be nice if there were other ways to interact with the Xenon, other than shooting them...

The answer to the above is -
A better compression on cargo holds
A targeting system like the gun in alien or on a comanche helicopter.
braking thruster's to give the effect of being in real space.
Auto collision avoidence system that you can buy, it dont sound all the time, if you chase some one in to a asteroid field you can fly around them fast without hiting it. That would be intence. I dont think that EGOSOFT hase thought of this, i can just imagine the unbelivable fights that you could have.

The ability to use the same resourses as NPC stations to increase productivity or streamline production...

And Ecenomically Viable Player Powerplants that can compete with Npc's... (and a level playing field in the power market... if npc's don't need resourses to produce energy then player powerplants should be the same)

A level playing field is what is needed. The same resources for NPC and player controlled fabs, and also the same production rates etc so that the NPC ones cannot under cut the player without running out of money (eg SPP in Xt)

More variety in products and tradeable items.

A link between resource consumption and respawning objects ie if there are no Teladianium fabs then factories can't respawn.

More ship upgrades, eg anti missile systems, I like the colission avoidance from TC above, faster sheild regenerators, escape capsule if your ship is destroyed, I'm sure there are lots more...

I agree - Xenon economy

A better pirate economy would also be good. Perhaps with more illegal products such as alternative weapons and some stuff you could only ever get by being on good terms with pirates or by stealing their ships.

Less crystal resources required for Solar Power Plants. I am sure in XT you need something like 4 crystal fabs to supply 3 SPP's (or is it 5 to supply 4!).

Might be a little off topic but I think to have the details of a system updated if it's no longer in control of the original inhabitants....Example if you wipe out a Xenon sector it shouldn't known as a xenon sector.......blah blah blah yadda yadda
