May I suggest adding a Xperimental Pilot start?
start in a random unknown sector or something with nothing to your name..

Nav->Jump to sector command should work...eldyranx3 wrote:Without spoiling too much, is there a way to escape the starting sector of the new Lost Split Game start?
... I'll re-check it when i get home
Edit:
Checked and the function of jumping to a unmapped sector was changed in 2.5...

I'll be fixing it and other tweeks once 2.6 comes out

I was wondering about the Lost Split start as well
If you start in a Kha'ak sector,
and no other sectors have lit up on the universe map (because you haven't explored them yet),
How the heck are you meant to be able to jump somewhere else ?
Also the start gives you a regular jumpdrive so even then you'd need a jumpgate to jump to.
Just wondering, not moaning or criticizing.

If you have the cheat console you could do these things:EmperorJon wrote:Sorry if this has been asked but I just thought I'd try this out.
How am I meant to escape on Lost Split? There's not a gate to jump to.
Add energy cells to ship.
Reveal all sectors.
Jump to the closest sector.
Unreveal all sectors.
Then continue the game as normally.

Ok, well just DLd 2.6, and the starts disappeared, even though I copied them and pasted in afterwards.
Then I removed them and put them back, now they're there but Nostalgic Argon isn't. So I thought I'd deleted the patch by accident.
But it still says 2.6? Possible gamestart number mismatch?

I know it says 10, so it overwrote 10 which was this, then I put this back as 11.
Anyway, I can either have VM or Nostalgic Argon, so it's probably a naming slot, yes. Maybe they used the old Yaki Insurgent slot.

Hi
I am having a problem with unlocking the starts I have hit the requirements for both Yaki Insurgent and Clan Warrior being Priest Protectorate Paranid Rank and Specialist Fight Rank respectively as it says on the first page.
They have yet to appear as available the Pirate Profiteer one is showing and the Nostalgic Argon one isn't. I'm guessing that it uses the highest starts in the cat files which is fine cause I don't really want the Nostalgic one. I am just wondering if the unlock requirements are different or if there is something else I need to do? I am running other scripts but none of them use the start resources. Thanks.

EmperorJon, I'll need to update the gamestarts to be compatible with the new 2.6 start.EmperorJon wrote:Ok, well just DLd 2.6, and the starts disappeared, even though I copied them and pasted in afterwards.

Unfortunately atm I haven't got the time to do it.
I'll advise and update when it is done.

At the moment, I'm cracking into your methodology. You couldn't be a nice person and make everything inline, eh?Snowship wrote:Unfortunately atm I haven't got the time to do it.

Updated to be compatible with and include changes from v2.6 and lightly tested. (There's a couple of typos of "Aldrin" vs "Aldran" in it, but those are in the vanilla starts.xml too, so...whatever. It works.) I also removed the signature line since it's an unsigned mod anyway.

Let me know if you'd like me to take it down after you're done, Snow.

Do you have any ideas to make more gamestarts? I could come up with a few more ideas.
I just think it would be great if this plus the vanilla ones added up to 50 or even more starts, every time you want to start a new game you have a completely different starting idea.
