I don't think this is a bug. UT / ST are completely different scripts. Experience is only transferred within Lucike's scripts.

What does the option "update maps" do? It is not enabled by default. I would think it just saves prices and stations (if any have been created or destroyed) since last sector visit?

That was explained in the previous page, particularly in this post.

Just wanted to mention that the prerequisite for this says X3 1.3 or higher but the necessary library requires 2.1 which means this script obviously also requires 2.1

Right, but the current version of EST is 3.2.04. I will update this topic in the next days.

-> Economy and Supply Trader (Version 3.2.04)
-> Necessary Libraries (You must install these !) (NEW 2009/08/23 !)

Prerequisites : X³ Terran Conflict Version 2.1 or higher (not compatible with X³ Reunion) !!

Letting you know I'm having problems with readtext overwriting the ranks of my EST's that I have recently started from scratch. It may be something to do with using new library files with an older EST package (Ver3104). I'll install the new EST pack(Ver3204) and see if it helps. Guess it doesn't help to be in between versions, on the cusp so to speak :)
I'll edit this post with any results I find.

*FIXED*
Moral of this story? Never trust a machine.
I was on TC 2.0a, despite clicking 'check for updates' on the startup screen every week or so. Explains the in game messages I was getting from some mods about only working with Ver 2.1.
I updated to Ver2.1 after stopping my prospectors and ESTs, but had to uninstall and re-install the mods to get rid of the ReadText error.

Well that sucks hardcore, is there a later version? Because my Laptop (Gaming) has problems with the latest 2.1 patch. I've had to stick to 2.0 D:
Toshiba Qosmio X305
Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP1
Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 @2.00ghz
4.0GB 1066 DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce 9700M GTS 512meg

EST 3.2.00 should be the version you are looking for. In the german topic you can find it to download. I quoted it, so you don't have to search for it. But the library is still missing. I didn't find the appropriate one. The newest one also requires TC 2.1.

-> Wirtschafts- und Versorgungshändler (Version 3.2.01)
-> Wirtschafts- und Versorgungshändler (Version 3.2.00)

Die Änderungen

21.05.2009 (Version 3.2.00)
  • Diverse kleinere Optimierungen.

I have outfitted my Mistrals with 30 Wasp missiles with their re-supply set to 30. Several have gone off and sold their missiles and have never re-supplied them. Is this normal behavior? I could not find any topics on this. Thanks - J

Edit: Watched a new guy run off and sell his 30 fighter drones right off the bat as well.

does this script or its dependant scripts auto append the available-cargo-space to the ship name in bracket? like;

Your Ship001 (1234)

whereby "(1234)" is auto-generated update dynamically to the ship name, and may in different coloring

***

nvm, i found out its by another mod MARS.

Is it possible that logging for this script, to the player log can suddenly stop working?

When I started my 3 ESTs off, they logged away quite happily. I've not changed anyhting, but now the only log messages I get are about training. Nothing appears in the log when I click the analysis command either. One chap just sold a load of BoGas, but didn't log anything.

Logging is definitely turned on for all three traders.

Apart from EST stuff, my log seems ot be functioning fine...Strange.

@JimBadger
Do you talk about the ingame-players-log?

The trading-logs can be found beneath your savegame folder in an textfile. No logging for such things inside the game. The same for the trader analysis.

What are the parameters for training? How long does it take? Can it be sped up. Is it based on product sold/bought or is it a timer? Am I able to buy training for my pilots?

It doesn't work for me,
I installed it correctly and see the option, it is grayed out out though.
I bought trade mk 1 and 2 and navigation mk 1 fitted on a mercury super freighter and the option is still grayed out.
Thankyou very much for the help  :D

Paladinj,

(I am using 2.1 and latest version of all scripts.

pacificwing:
Im not sure but I think the parameter is the flight time. You can't buy training for your pilots. But if you start the trader in the trading station in herons nebula I think, you have a chance to get a already trained pilot by random.

paladinj:
I guess you try to start your trader with no pilot on it for the very first time while it is flying in space? Dock it to a station and start it then. The pilot has to be able to get on board ^^
