Important is that we have backups to bring the site back online as soon as the host is ready.
i've heard rumours that although it was hacked there was data stolen by a certain group not mentioning any names although the model of the khaak queen is what i'm refering however i'm not going into detail about that, maybe the xtc will be alot better than the xtm release i certainly hope so

I don't quite understand what you want to say with this post. As Aragon posted, TXU being down has nothing to do with it being hacked - the host of TXU was hacked which hasn't got much to do with the site itself besides that some data may be lost which can be restored easily with backups.kuruptx3 wrote:enenra wrote:In case someone is worried: TXU is currently down because the hosts servers have been hacked. No idea what you want to tell us about the Kha'ak Hive Queen, though.

But yes, we are aiming to make the XTC better than the XTM.

Sartorie wrote:The ship you are referring to is the Paranid M8 "Hades", a vanilla TC ship. Unfortunately the looks is the only thing it's good for
why the paranid wold have such a gorgeous ship for a m8 yet a abomination of a m3+ is still a mystery to me.
iam sure theres a mod team out there that can rectify this situation......

Was any personal information compromised? Did the Cyber Criminals leave any finger prints?Aragon Speed wrote:OK our server has (finally) been restarted, and it looks like a total data loss.So we will have to restore the site from scratch.

(hope you have not stored your mod data on those servers... hope you had some form of backup for it... hope the XTC can continue...
)
just a thought....
after you release this fantastic mod... and someone wants to still Mod your Mod (strange... will probably be perfect... no need for modding
)
can he release the results in a "only XTC-compatible" mod?
or is that against some kind of law/your will?

There are Mods/Add-ons that require XTM as a basis, so I don't see a reason why that shouldn't happen with XTC, too.someone else wrote:just a thought....

Actually I'm expecting at least a Combat Mod for XTC from ulfius to pop up at some time after XTC release

@someone else
thanking the god of cyberspace, mod files are safely stored on other servers, so no worries about XTC
But regarding TXU forum, our great Mokonzi is still working hard to restore it to full functional. I haven't known him personally but i'm starting to think he's furry, pink, and with a huge battery stuck onto his back...
Thanks Moko for your efforts!

No data was stolen, they just deleted data on the servers as quickly as they could to cause havoc. Something like 100,000 websites went off-line with this attack, so it was just an attack to cause chaos rather than to steal anything.Roger L.S. As for finger prints, no-idea, not my area and that's up to the hosts to deal with anyway.

The TXU forum servers are separate from the dev FTP, and also from the TXU download servers.someone else wrote:(hope you have not stored your mod data on those servers... hope you had some form of backup for it... hope the XTC can continue...)
Edit: Oops, missed Stem's reply to that one.

Just to echo Xel here, add-on mods are not only allowed, but actively encouraged. Large mods like this touch just about every major file at least once, so for anything to work with them the modder would have to work with our files as a base rather than the vanilla files most of the time if they wish to be compatible.someone else wrote:just a thought....

What isn't allowed is to take our work and to release it as a standalone mod that is independent of XTC.
As a modder yourself you know how much work you have put into your mods, with mods as large in scope as XTM and XTC are, that amount of work is a small part of the whole. We would rather not have people wandering off with it.

Me too, I need a holiday already.morgan665 wrote:just want to say looks awsome cant wait till its done

Hello, I can not wait to try the new Extended MOD. But I know that it takes time. I have just one question. Will you also change ships stats? Most importantly the M6 class? They are quite useless now, as they have a turning rate lower than a M7

Is the host VAserv? If so then this is a truly sad affair.
