Took a assasination mission from terracorp... Target was flying a Terran Katana, escorted by the standard compliment of pirate fighters... and a Kha'ak corvette! and... a goner ranger! variety is good but come on... way to kill me with those mosquitos

The way I understand it, those missions are set up like that so you get a shot at capping some of the more rare ships in the universe.

I just thought it was to make the pirates seem as though they're good at acquiring new hardware through illegal means.

Shoulda tried boarding that corvette. People have gotten Ps, Ks and Js through such missions.

Kha'ak capitals, including the corvette, are not boardable even in these assassination missions. So don't bother trying.

It's the Nividium that does it - the Kha'ak Corvette includes that very unstable compound. That and the energy involved behind internal systems leaves big explosions...
