Ship mods from Reunion?
Hey there.
Can somebody tell me pls, is there any way to make ship mods for reunion work properly for TC? :/
Maybe any tool to convert old ship mods to the TC format?
coz i'm loving so much my Galaxy class from Star Trek, and can't play without my baby:p
beforehand thanks ^^;

If its a xsp you are using for the ship you are using, some files would need redoing, mainly Tships, 440001 perhaps the scene file.
As far as I can tell you have to use the new Tships and other files from TC to Relfect the new changes to the game its self. It is doable, I myself have managed to get a few small ships into TC with some frustration I might add.
Maybe someone will update it eventually, I can't help at present sorry, as i'm working on the pirates mod and in process of converting everything over to TC. Takes forever.

I'll eventually port a version of DDRS to X3 TC. However I want/need to replace much of the mission scripting in the X3R versions with new MD-based missions.
...but first, I intend to produce a "final" version of DDRS for X3R. It's currently at Beta 2, has 5-6 new custom ships, and is called "Convergence", since it will merge the two separate versions of DDRS into a single re-balanced mod.
However X3R Convergence will most likely stay "on the shelf" for a bit, until I log a bit of "me time" on a fully patched X3 TC (once the full patch is available)

Installing EXTRA ships... some tips from my testing..
Ok so I got a little carried away in my testing.....
I have just installed 171, yes 171 DIFFERENT ships using the Installer Tool. I have 171 new ships to play with right now in TC.
They all appear in the in game database and so far all models are loading with no problems when I create the ships with script. All appear to have working weapons mounts and show no issues in anything else...
Installation is done with Cycrows installer tool. If you do not have any ships installed, just install some and play the game.. The tool will put things in the right place. You will know by two major things if it did not work or if there are ships that are not compatible. First, when you get to the main menu, the 3D graphic on the right of the advertising space dock will not be there. Instead at the main menu you will have a blank screen other than the menu options. The second indicator is that many stations you will not be able to dock at, even your own players ship.
There are some ships that do not work so trial and error is what I had to do. I will try and post an update later of all the ships I have that work and perhaps if I can get permission to host them, I will ZIP up all the ships that work into one package for download. I will need permission from all the different artists and creators for this though...
Man am I going to enjoy this.... I have a few ships that did not work but hopefully that can eventually be fixed, especially the USS Yorktown Carrier model from grev77. That ship is an awesome piece of work if you have not seen it... A large aircraft carrier with its own cockpit AND internal rooms you can actually look into! Grev if you read this... well you know...

some of the ships required special changes to the types files, some of these are not currently supported by the Plugin Manager, so they add thier own types files for it.
unfortuatlly, because the plugin manager doesn't control these added types files, it cant convert them to TC which is y they dont work.
luckily not many ships do this, the yorktown is one of them thou.
Now for some good news, when i've released a stable version of the plugin manager (ie out of beta) and the ship creator is fully TC compatable. I will be adding more types files, the yorktown is currently on my testing lists, so i will be adding stuff to make that ship work, as well as some others

I have quite the ship collection in blender, max , sketchup and maya formats. Only problem is that I do no have permission to redistribute them so it would be for myself only unfortunately...:/ IF I can learn how to properly import them into the game.

NICE! Dam I would love to use that ship in game... Cycrow can tell you what needs to be done to make them work in his installer tool..

I gave the extracted ships unique id #'s. this works in X3R, In TC I get that black shadow look with just a few textures, randomly placed on the ship. I used the shipcreator to extract and make them into xsp's. they work fine in X3R just no textures in TC any help or advise would be great

mmm OK my ship files are all in .xsp format already.. Perhaps Cycrow can help more with what you are trying to do because I am not that versed yet on the inner workings... Basically I went through loading .xsp files for every ship and testing them in game to see if they worked or not.... while testing Cycrows installer tool

Having some issues here:

I installed Beta 6 just last night, backed up my saves etc, to try this. I installed the Viper Mk VII xsp that I had lying around. Everything seemed fine, no missing station in the main menu, I didn't search for it in a Shipyard, but I did play for a few minutes and everything seemed normal.
So the next task was to try with TWO ships, but upon trying to install a second, I got this error after the progress bar for converting the files. Then the plugin manager crashes.
So now, this happens EVERY time, I even uninstalled the Viper Mk. VII and now that can't be re-installed. Any idea what this might be Cycrow? Anyone?

What ship file did you try to install? I have the Viper II and Mk VII both and they work fine. If you can tell me which model, I can tell you if it worked in my testing.. Oh and include WHO made the model and if it has one a version number.

Since I have been in the X series since the for game X-Beyond, I have collected everything I did come across... More so for X3R and X3TC now but I do have some archived things for X-Beyond, X-Tension and X2-The Threat.
So I have some where around 200 ships or so in my collection, not counting versions I have modified myself for my use.
IF I can get all the artists permission, I want to create a ZIP file of ALL the ships I have that I personally tested and know work in X3TC. One ship I am waiting to get working though is the USS Yorktown Carrier but Cycrow knows of the issue with that and in fact is using it as his test ship as he works on the installer tool.
Anyhow, I would be happy to host them for download IF I can get everyone's permission to do so in a large ZIP file. Right now I am going through and figuring out who are the artists and for what ships...

HOWEVER, remember that not all work right now in X3 Terrain Conflict... I found about 30-40 ships so far that do not work at this time. Of course I found 171 that do!
It would be impossible for me to tell you where I got all these ships because I have no clue this long past.... Thus the reason I am will try and get the artists permission to post all my ships in one big zip file so everyone can enjoy them....
