NEWS: Update 1.2 now available for X³: Terran Conflict

Post by Xenon_Slayer »

--------------------------------------------

Attention - October 30th, 2008
The 1.2 update has been replaced with a cumulative update to version 1.2.1. Of course all features of 1.2 are included plus an important bugfix to address a performanc issue that increased over time. 1.2 -> 1.2.1 changes are detailed in the respective 1.2.1 news post.

--------------------------------------------

With copies of X³: Terran Conflict finding their way into people's hands, we have made the first update available for download. From Terran Conflict's start-up configuration screen, click "Check for Updates". This will direct you to the patch download page. You may also navigate to the patch through the Download section of this site.

Install 1.2 onto disk versions of X³: Terran Conflict only. Steam users will be updated through Steam itself. Savegame compatibility is maintained with 1.0.1.

Update 1.2 includes new features, improved gameplay and several fixes. For a full list of changes in 1.2, please check out the readme that comes with the update. Here is a brief summary of the changes:

- A whole new mission to scan for valuable asteroids
- Enabled mouse control in external view mode
- When a target is lost, the nearest enemy is targeted automatically
- Improved boarding crew functionality
- Various improvements in the user interface
- Adjustments to text and voice
- Several other improvements and fixes

As we have done for previous games we shall continue to improve the game and add content. Work on the next update is already underway. In the meantime, enjoy X³: Terran Conflict 1.2!

got to say egosoft is the best developer for releasing updates and listening to fans, and has been as long as I remember, which is since before this forum!!

Sounds great, can't wait! I wish the Steam version would unlock tomorrow morning like the newsletter said, which is contrary to what Valve said... :P. I wonder if the game will update as soon as the unlock happens?

The second download mirror (dl4) is giving me a 404 error (although the others are fine).

So yet again deepsilver must have rushed x3 tc out before you could fix all the bugs etc, coudlnt they wait just 1 extra week till you guys were finished.

I wonder now if retail version of x3 tc is unplayable as x3 r was when released. I mean if a patch is released that quick there must have been somit seriously wrong yeah?

Have you not read the small prewiev by one of the players? He had played for 3 hours without bugs. Surely if the patch was intented for bugs, they would have showed themself during the 3 hours :S

Those lucky Swiss persons who got their copies before anybody else did have massively failed to jam the X3: Terran Conflict Technical Support thread, so it would seem to be pretty stable.

So, "there must have been something seriously wrong, NO?"
