Finally. So much for the "it's so hard to implement, you'd need a new engine" argument.
Anyway it looks like I may have to tweak my economy script for it to work properly with TC, based on what's in the Trade trailer. New commodities like Combat Rations (?!) to support the new ship/mission/weapon types.
I hated combat in X2, it felt like the weapon projectiles were slower then the ships. Also a reoccurring debacle in the last plot mission involving infinite pirate hoards. X3's combat is some of the most fun I've ever had. Money making in X3 is much easier unless you were expecting to take advantage of X2's trade bugs in X3, which of course won't work.
I vaguely recall hearing that the auto-aim feature of FCS Mk.II won't work with the new control scheme; that would probably turn me off to the revamped system.
I could just be imagining things (and I hope I am).
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

Heard the same, but since you can point exact location of the laser shot i'd consider it as a logical follow up of this system. You have "hand" FCS Mk 2 all the time. Since I hate playing with mouse anyway (joy here) I wont be using that anyway.
I just really hope that you can play the game without mouse at all in this new UI (ship with joy, everything else with keys I map on HOTAS).
Will we be free of the $2B credit limit on station/player accounts? It gets abit silly droping trade/EQ docks for the sole function of "Haveing another account to stuff $2B into".

It's to do with the numbers. I think the biggest number you can get in whatever value the bank accounts have, is somewhere above 2 billion.
They could invent some clever system to get past 2bil, but I'm not Egosoft, so I wouldn't know.
There is no single item that would cost over 2bil, so one can buy everything without having more than that at any given moment. Besides, most players hardly ever face this "problem", and those who do, IMO they should have some (management) challenges left.

There is no Box. I am the sand.
I've just bought a duel core PC (3.1 per core) and an nVidia GTX 280 to go in it, with everything else maxxed out. My first ever PC to be at the bleeding edge.
And X3:TC is coming out soon
I can't wait. I want it NOW!!!
When I do get the game I'll not be coming back to the forums for probably a month. No spoiler risk taking for me. I want to experience the delight of a new X game without anything being learned on the forum first.

I know what you mean, while I have never found the plot elements the most polished in the X games (compared to plot hungry games, X has always had the game play) it still p****d me right off when somebody posted "look I found this blah blah blah".
Now, if I can just speed time up a little so the 10th is here......

Sorry if this has already been covered, I didn't want to filter through 60 some pages of stuff.
If it's the same engine as X3:R (which is appears it is), then it's a DirectX engine. Porting it to a Mac would be tricky (not impossible, and easier given the work already done on X3:R) and would take a fair old while - just look at the delay between the release of X2, and it's appearance on other OSs.
I was wondering if X3:TC will be released in North America. I am a big fan of X series, played at least 3 games and X2 and last X3 and looking forward to get TC. Can it only be ordered from Europe? I've read that Deep Silver will be handling release of X3 in US. If thats true why they still don't have the game in their list on the web site, only 3 weeks left until release.
Thanks
