Heh heh, we have all been there before, "Here is your Christmas present,
but you can't play with it until we get the batteries." :D :D

I hope you all had a great Christmas, and we at FACTS wish you all the very best New Year. :)

hm, just an observation

if you cant see or compare your own standings vs other people, and you can not see yourself in top list if your game has 'modified' tag.... then seems like there's no reason to upload those game stats

There would be no point in allowing comparisons between modified games, though, because you're not comparing like with like. As a really crude example, you might be playing XTM and have started on one of the starts where it provides you with millions of credits and more ships than you can shake a stick at, or you might have enabled the script editor and scripted yourself a billion credits just to get started. This is why Modified games are not included in the comparison charts.

althou certain stats could be compared, like shots fired, accuracy, etc

Somebody could have modified their game to help with those, too...for example, up the range of APBE to 3km and your laser hit percentage and number of shots fired will go through the roof!

I can't help thinking it's pretty meaningless even in vanilla, though - try to compare someone who primarily flies their cap ship with all-round PPCs with someone who prefers piloting an LX with PBEs. There is no way to compare those two situations.

Well, if you clear Xenon sector with Python, you wont fire a single shot according to statistics, so your accuracy remains. Yes, you cannot compare one value to other that "does not exist".

Fiksal, you could set up a database of your own that does filter by the modified tag ...

Thanks for the update!

Nice this upload facility for your games statistics.
I must admit though that I liked (the now defunct) Logaans x3 statistics site much more. That had a better and quicker interface and was much less cumbersome to create reports from.
I am quite confident however your uplink reports can and will be improved!

Well, yes - It would only give stats for guns you personally operate, so turrets don't count unless you man them yourself. So probably not the best comparison to choose... However, my argument still stands for different loadouts. I've flown the same ship with mostly HEPTs and MDs, and of course there's a huge difference in both shots fired and accuracy.

Happy new year everyone!

Such a nice forum, been fun spending (virtual?) time with you all this year.

May your LX pilots be cowardly, your Kha'ak invade none of 'your' sectors, your space fuel and space weed to be, erm spacey, and most of all:

good profitsss to all

all true, but us, modifieds, could still have a separate modified listing, if one chooses to participate in. Obviously every entry there should be taken with a grain of salt, and maybe even flower.

I could :)

is there a public interface to filter that packaged info? (eh... never mind... I shall send it to S&M)

well yeah, I mean modified games are modified in some way, I can think of countless ways to up all of the stats :P.

and as for the info, if we viewed it, we could probably edit it, meaning that you could cheat even further - even on non-modified games.
Imagine, fired 2 billion shots, 105% accuracy... somethings seriously wrong there :).

So what you're saying is, if you ignore everything that's different and focus only on the one thing that's the same, they're same.

Good God.

So, the patch doesn't do anything for me? No sectors, ships, missions, anything?

I have that little "modified" tag on my stats, so I am screwed, right?

The Mission director doesn't actually give you any missions on the bulletin board, it just allows other people to make them?

So you are releasing the Mission Director which would require you to modify your game to use created missions, along with the online statistics which prevents you from modding your game?

Huh?

Egosoft, I demand a refund. Your standards are clearly slipping. The 1400+ hours I got from X3 for $40 is simply not sufficient. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Well, gotta go, there is a Perseus in my other window that needs blasting. Happy new year.

Hmm... :gruebel:

Anyone fired any wasps and seen what happens to missile accuracy if multiple heads hit?
