Wow that option completly blew me off.

I went back and changed all my pirate ships. I've added about 10 pirate ships (M3s-M5s) to spice things up since they are the ones who are usually scattered all over the place. I'm even considering of adding a bunch of M6s and maybe even an M2

How long does it normally take before the pirates start using their pirate ships?

I've probably killed 50+ pirates in these past couple of days, and I still don't see the ships (about 10 or so) that I set the owner race to be pirates. I figured some would have spawned with the new ships by now. I just checked some of the pirate ship .XSPs and yes, I saved them correctly for pirate to be the owner race, and of course I had reloaded them all a couple of days ago.

Hey Cycrow,

I was wondering if there was a way to include some custom data to patch into Jobs.txt in each ship package? That would allow people to include Jobs.txt entries in the ship package, ie: no more editing Jobs.txt by hand (unless you want to tune spawn frequency).

Has anyone heard about not being able to dock anywhere if the ship installer mod is selected? is this common or what, and what can i do to fix it?

i just figured out that the reason i couldnt dock at any station from any start was becuse the ship installer was selected as the current mod...

thats not a problems i've encounted, and the ship installer shouldn't really effect any kind of docking.

what happens when you try to dock ?

i can dock fine in my game

it just tells me that i cant dock, Pirate, argon, split, paranid, all the same, i cant dock anywhere... even when i am at a high enough reputation level to dock.

could it be a certain ship i have installed, or is it the whole manager?

Could not get it to work with Rogyes Mod - worked OK before I installed his Mod.

If I select the Ship Installer Mod then his mod is lost.

try restting the installer to remove all the ships, then select the base mod and install the ship.

if that doesn't work, try changign the base mod method to fake patch

Do you mean un-install the program and re-install or just deleating all the ships I had in there and start over?

Tried Fake Patch and even pointing the base mod to Rogyes no effect but already had ships installed pre R's mod

Really like to get this working

there is a reset option in the install, it will delete all the ships for you.

doing it like this will make the install do a direct copy of the base mod, rather than file by file copy that it does if there are ships alreayd installed.

With the ship creator, is it possible to have it output the stuff into a different mod file than "shipcreator"?
is it possible to have it name that something else, and still be able to modify that file as opposed to the original?

Deleted all ships via reset.

Tried installing ship into standard mod via fake patch and also via recommended settings. No ships got installed.

Also tried above pointing to Rogyes mod same result.

Was only trying to install 3 ships

What should the configuration be set to?

1-open the ship installer
2-pick a mod
3-install a ship
4-pick the shipcreator mod apon starting x3
5-go buy your new ship

Seemed to have solved the issue:

- Put Rogueys mod in as afake patch in the root X3 directory thus the only mod on startup is ship creater

Everything is working fine with me, the Ship Installer, and Roguey's mod.

At first I was having a lot of weird problems, so I ended up reseting the ship installer, installing Roguey's mod first, importing my old fleet, installing my ships, using the cheat script to get back my old imported ships, and everything is good to go! Now comes the cleaning up of my stations that are floating in space. Oh boy what a task. But I get to enjoy a new mod :)

JBL, how is yours working?

Cycrow, for the most part ShipInstaller works, but we noticed somethng odd.

For me, the 4th ship and beyond begin to rename a custom ware slot installed by Roguey's mod. If I only have 3 ships installed, that ware slot is used by the custom ware.
