Currently working on the next version of the program, but heres one of the features that has been added.

its for searching your computer for any X3 Installations so they can be added automatically for you

hey ya...
i asked this question in the german forum, no one actually could help me! maybe you heard it several times, i'm sorry for that! so, i got the latest version of your ship-installer, the latest versions of several ships! i installed them, i selected the ship-mod, the game is running perfectly.... without the ships! :?
they are nowhere to find, not one of the shipyards sells them, but they are in the game, i can script them with the cheat script (oh, the ships are always listed as "readtext blablabal..."), but that's not what i want! so i played with the creator, tried to set every ship to every shipyard --> argon, split and so on, but there are no ships to sell!
am i stupid??? :cry:
hmm, game is at 2.002 with the bonus pack 3.1.05 and some other scripts...


i must apologize for my disgraceful use of english, i'm german :D

sounds like you havn't set the language correctly for the game.

in the Ship Installer options, theres an option for extra text files, u need to set that to the language of the game ur using, otherwise the text files wont be made for your language, so u get readtext.

it also uses text files to get the information about shipyards to be added to

thanx for your reply! it worked for the language setting, now the ships have thier names, but they are still not available at the shipyards???

trying going to Update Mod, to make sure it recreates all the text files correctly.

u could also check the scripts existing in your X3 Scripts directory, they should be copied automatically.

also, as u tryed making changes to the ships, make sure they are actually done correctly and that the shipyards are checked, and then reinstall them over the top

New Version Available.

V1.90
* Added Reset Option
* Added Search option
* Added Player owner race
* Added File System Option
* Added Cockpit Option in Installer
* Fixed Extracting Components
* Fixed Importing Components
* Added Use Language Text for Ship Name

for those having a problem with invisible ships, or file corruption errors, you can try the file system setting to extract to directories rather than create a single mod.

The Reset option is an easier way to start from the beginning, its equivialnt of deleting the shipcreator mod and config files.

The cockpit option in the install allows you to change what cockpits the ships use, the first option uses cockpits that are set in the XSP file, "None" will remove any cockpit, even if you have the cockpit mod enabled, and Standard Cockpits will have the same cockpits as the original ships, based on race and class, without the cockpit mod they will not be displayed either.

Hi,

Isn't the creator able to read X2 files? Because I wanted to import the X2 ships in X3 but always when I open the Tships or the cat the creator crashes.

afaik, the format for the files is different, i dont have x2 on my pc atm, so i cant really test it.

also, i only did scripts with X2, never any modding

hey cycrow, seems to work now, many thanx! hmm, after upgrading to 1.90, the creator works but every time i try to open the customize area, it crashes! but hey, it works now, great job... :)

With an earlier version of the creator it worked... so it shouldn't be that a big problem. Would be great if you could implement this. :)

Load Ship Data and Import Ship Wizard.

When I open a X2 CAT or TShips, the Creator crashes. No error message, the window just closes.

But I have to say, I never could import a X2 ship in X3 without errors. However this may ba because I didn't know exactly how to do it.

ill have to look into the format differences, one problem could be the different settings in TShips, i think X3 has more, which prolly messes up how it parses it

the update option in 1.89 doesnt work for me either.

ok i got it to update to 1.90 but when i try to customize a ship the program crashes. i uninstalled 1.90 and then reinstalled it, but it made no diference.

Yep, something like that. The X2 Editor is far less complex than the X3 Editor. ^^
