ok, u could try reinstall the ships again, it sounds like for some reason the model files are missing, unless they are broken ships, some of the ships on Tensin sites havn't been upgraded and might be broken, so if u've used one of them it might be that.
however, all the ships on my site i have checked and they all worked individually, so if you used them, its likly an install problem rather than a ship file problem

Er. slight problem... with 1.84
Hi Cycrow, got 1.84 up and running. However when I run the game (standard), using the standard game as the base mod ,only the ships present in the standard game appear.
I'm sorry to be a pain, I think you might have answered 1 question , Glorious heritage is a Tensin ship.
I can load the xsp files in, create the Tships.pck file which for some reason is in a mod called ship creator.
Where in 1.72 it creates the shiplist in the shipinstall types folder, there is nothing there.
What have I done wrong ? I think this last batch of chemo has addled my brain, I've missed a step somewhere.
Is there a step by step guide to this? I've obviously missed something.

theres a few guides and a FAQ that might help.
everything is in the ShipCreator mod, so you have to make sure that is selected when you run the game.
the ShipInstall directory is only a temp directory used to create the files, the newer version just cleans it up abit better. The only file that is needed in that directory is the ships.dat file which contains all the inforomation for the ships.
Have you tryed using the cheap scripts to c if the ships appear on that list, if they dont then it could be a few problems, including invalid tships file, you can check this by opening it in the X3 Editor and c if there are errors.
If there is, send me a copy of it so i can take a look.

Airpsace, im not really a modeller, but adding guns from scratch isn't exactly an easy job, it requires modelling the ship to add the turrets in the correct place.
However, if the turrets have been added to the model already and are in the scene file, then its fairly easy to do, you just need to assign each cockpit and add the gun entries for the ship, all that can be done in the Ship Creator

I'll try that in the morning, the games on my desktop in the bedroom. i'm not brave enough to switch it on and undergo a barrage of curses from my semicomatose wife. I'll get back to you. Once again many thanks for your help.
Ship creator appears in the select mod package screen on startup, I select that , the game loads up. Don't worry its probably something simple I'm not doing or not doing right.
So the creator & installer appear to be working, I'll upload a copy of the mod created to you. If I can remember how to do that. Your help is greatly appreciated. Take care & all the best.

Hi Cycrow,
I'm having weapon problems with Galactica and the Cylon Basestar I downloaded from http://www.xpluginmanager.co.uk/Ships/
Both appear correctly named in the ship list and spawn as expected, however going into the command menu there is no Turret management options or even any turrets listed under Weapons....
Also I can't seem to find the Cylon Raider MKII I installed in the ship list?
But if I use the Ship Installer (v1.84) and click on the Cylon Raider Mk2 (BSG) and edit it, then click on the Customise Ship button, then click on the Model TAB, I see there is no ID listed for the Body File...well it shows "0", but others have a number....could that be a problem??
I tried installing the above 3 ships in one MOD, having partial success but I have no idea how to fix the weapons on the Larger ships or find my Cylon Raider.
If you have a spare minute could you look them over or suggest where else I may have gone wrong.

Cycrow, first off I want to say that this set of script management tools made installing a few new ships into my universe with no headache at all. Save for one.
I am currently playing as the bankrupt assassin and chose to hunt Boron to the brink of extintion, eventually anyway. My problem is one of the ships I installed apparently only shows up at Boron shipyards. I tried using the Ship Creator to change the location of where it can be found but no luck. How can I get it to where the ship either shows up in another races shipyard or it can be found at multiple shipyards?
All the other ships I installed thus far I have found that I could purchase. Just not one. Any help or ideas?

Okay - Very simple question. When I install ships using your installer - they appear in various shipyards for me to buy - this I understand. But does the game AI use the ships as well - do you start seeing the races flying around in these ships - or are you the only person who can ever use these ships?

that depends on several things, mainly down to what how the entries are defined in the jobs files, thats what used to create all the ships around.
in most case, the AI should start using the ships depending on how they've been set, but it will take time for that to happen.
as theres a limit to the amount of ships for each job, you have to wait for some of the current jobs to finish, ie the ships destroyed before more is created that will then start selecting from the new ships list
