For everyone who ran previous version (v1.82), causing the loss of installed ship list, there's a simple solution.
If you want to preserve your current ship configuration and be able to install/uninstall new ships, just rename ShipCreator.cat/dat files (in your X3 Reunion\mods directory) to something like mymod.cat/dat and in ShipInstaller, select it as your base mod. This will recreate ShipInstaller.cat/dat files with your current config as a base.

I appologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post this.
I've been trying to use the ship creator to remove the cockpits from the ships I've downloaded and it never seems to work, when ever I reinstall the ship after modifying it the cockpits are still there. I'm wondering what I am missing, or am I going about things the wrong way by useing the ship creator?

If you mean the how, i was removeing the tcockpits entrys in the ships xsp files.
if you mean the reasion, on some of the ships im useing the position of the camera combined with the cockpits means near 0 visibility.
as good looking as some of the cockpits are, they are no substitute for being able to see where your going

You have to extract the xsp using the ship creator. Then using X3Editor you goto the text Editor and open the types\tships.txt file. Look for the ship you want to edit then click on models tab. Where it says Cockpit Scene you may see something like this. objects\ships\argon\cockpits\argon_M3_cockpit_scenerobcoe wrote:I appologize in advance if this is the wrong place to post this.

change it to 4512 save the file then repack with x3modmanager then use the ship creator and use the ship import wizard.
messing with cockpits though is not a fun process so back up your files before you do it.

Hey Cycrow...I am having major problems.
I have a few ships I am trying to install into the xtended mod.....one of them is the starfury...which I have rebalanced to 105 for play purposes. when I load a new game I go to the shipdock and purchase a starfury first thing....I get into my starfury and then eject and turn around...and no texture....I believe the ebon hawk and the cyclon raider is also without textures...I haven't gotten the others but I suspect they are all without textures..
I have rechosen the X3 folder as you have suggested as well as selected the standard game and reselecting the xtended mod in the ship manager....I am using a steam version and ship manager 1.84.....please help me....I can send you my cat and dat files via email as well....any help would do

This is Bloody Brilliant!!!!!!!
Thanks Cycrow, this updated version takes the hassle out of building custom ships.
It occaisionally crashes on a couple of ships Glorious Heritage & the Ebon Hawk. But I'll suss those out eventually. I hope they pay you a lot of money in the real world, because you are worth it..
Finally I can build the Aerotech mod, & possibly the Freelancer ships mod.
Just finished putting together the fighters from Renegade Legion, this will be an easier job than anticipated thanks to you.

I think only the ships I have installed are having the problem. And yes, you have described the problem more correctly...they are not appearing at all. I have not come across any mod ships with the issue....
Thanks for working so hard on this...I am new to the game and just recently found out Xtended is having problems.
