Great new indeed. I wonder what I will miss during my next week's holidays
BTW would it be possible to add some positive race reputation for succesful missions? I would really like to buy a Python, but I miss 76% of reputation with Splits and it is increasing so slowly.

O.K. The problem is that in 90% I still get cadet missions, sometimes second lt. But I have not seen a first lt. mission yet. Seems I will have to wait.

Hmm, maybe you could post a table somewhere with exp for each level mission and how much exp is needed for each rank. Then there would be less of these questions.

Hey, an idea that has been batting around my head and fits perfectly with the framework you got here -- though would be a lot of work:
How about, shortly after joining the military, the race goes to war with all other races. Then you have a series of sector takeover missions, where you join a big battle, sometimes to join the front line, sometimes to take out strategic objectives.
After all baddies/objectives have been sorted, the military take control of the sector including all stations, customs patrols, etc. You then get a cash and notoriety reward.
As you increase in rank and more sectors are taken, dont change the missions much, just make it so the military put vessels under your control (permanently) to aid in their attacks (i.e. higher rank). As the universe starts to get taken over, you get given more ships but less AI backup, so eventually you're fighting a war in the name of your chosen race, all on your own.
I dont understand why something like this hasnt been done. To get control of an M1 through earning rank in the military, rather than buying it through trading, seems a logical alternative game path to a warmonger like me.
Also, it would add a sense of completion once you have converted all sectors to the race of your choice. Naturally it would mess up the economy something terrible, but I think at this point in X3's lifecycle there are enough people that would enjoy something totally different from trading...

well something i've been planning for is to course wars so you can take sides if you on the miltary, with various missions.
but the war would be more ongoing and you can help turn it in either direction.
but like most things, i've got loads of plans and so little time, especially as i've been concentrating on the ship and script managers, and firelance

u should get between 150-300 exp per sector at the lowest level, but the amount you get is random, so you could be unlucky and get around 150 for most missions so it'll be slow, but then u could be lucky and get more like 300.
thats per sector thou, so if the mission is 4 sectors, u could get over 1000 exp

cycrow, will it be possible for you to create some missions with the idea of a race ship contacting you ?? instead of bullitin board, that will make more diversity in missions too.
