I feel the same way about my Nemmie
- Never even bought any other M6 apart from that.
Got the E-Mail thank you, so off to play now
(I've started trying to take over the 8 Pirate sectors near Argon space)

Really hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the modified package you sent me crashes X3 back to desktop the instant I try to run the game...
I tested this several times, and as soon as I put the original M6 Mod back in the game started, soon as I put your modified one in it crashed on loading the game
I am using v1.3 of the game..

I've sent you a copy of the one I'm using- I changed the name of the mod package back to keep it as mehrunes mod so to speak (as I just called it my M6 mod to make editing and recompiling into the correct places mistake free..). Try it and once again keep me posted- if it isnt this tho, I don't know what it is since it works fine on mine.
(Did you decompile your main game folder or did you make a backup to decompile it when you used the modmanager?)

the only thing I decompiled was the M6 mod in the mods folder.. - But I haven't altered anything so haven't needed to save (I decompiled into a temp folder away from X3
)
One thing I did notice in the mod manager when comparing your first file and the original M6 mod, is that you have an extra file in your 1st version (xenon) which isn't in the original m6 mod
UPDATE: Installed the 2nd one you sent and I have got coloured cockpits back again
- no crashing on startup
Thank you very much..

GALAXY: re: black cockpits in the new CC:
Yes, I travelled through several gates, and my cockpit stayed black. But the good news is that I found out exactly why. You'd better be sitting down, as this gets really stupid:
What I did was download the new CC. I wasn't sure that the old CC could be safely over-written, so I got rid of the old CC files out of the MODS folder. But I didn't quite delete them. I always like backing stuff up, so I decided to cut the files out and paste them into my Backups folder. What I think I did was cut the files, go to the Backups folder, forget to paste them, and then go back to the MODS folder and paste them back in, somehow thinking they were the new files.
Checking the file Properties showed me that my "new" files were dated November 24, 2005, the date you realesed the original CC. The true new CC is dated January 25, 2006. Checking my Backups folder aso showed that I didn't actually paste the files I had intended to, so that must be what happened.
Anyway, I see the difference in th MODS, the old CC is called "Cockpit Callback" in the game, while the new one is called "CC2X131". That, and the cockpits are back in their glorious glory. Hooray!

Peculiar... I'm getting the black cockpits as well. Everything except for the readouts, which I'm assuming has to do with the minimul HUD mod?
I downloaded the most recent one, so I don't know what it's all about.
Help??
EDIT: It seems to be just my Argon ships, maybe? I never played X2 (yeah, yeah, blaspheme, I know), so I don't know what they're supposed to look like. Any ideas or input?
EDIT2: Figured it out. Any existing ships I have have black cockpits. Any new ships have full cockpits. Any way to fix this?

Re download the latest (aka the top most) link and try that. If you still get the black cockpits then goto a different sector. If you still have black cockpits make sure you have the new Cockpit Callback mod installed and selected. It's filename is different then the old one.

This is a most EXCELLENT mod! Thanks so much, Galaxy613! Great work!
Now if only the cockpit graphics would take advantage of X3's engine, instead of merely being X2's cockpits superimposed over X3. But let me be clear: playing X3 with X2 cockpits is far better than playing with _no_ cockpits. Thanks to this mod, I now feel the kind of "immersion" that I haven't felt since X2 and that I sorely missed in X3.
Thanks again, Galaxy613, and keep up the good work!

I have some requests for this mod!! (witch btw I love)
1. Can you modify the mod so that the shipnose disapears.. (IMO it looks stupid with shipnose and cockpit)
Gee.. I hate the shipnose even without the cockpit...
2. Is it possible to 'declutter' the cockpit? I would realy like a clear view out the 'window' (but with "almoust" all the instruments in place)?

It may be annoying, but that's the way the ship is built. As an example, consider the Nova ... in X2, there was no nose sticking out front because the cockpit was set forward. However, you DID see the four engines sticking out on the sides in cockpit view. In X3, the Nova is redesigned so that the cockpit is stitting back toward the rear of the ship, which means that you look out over the nose. Removing the nose from the X3 cockpit view would mean moving the cockpit FORWARD, which is not the ship's design.WarpWraith wrote:I have some requests for this mod!! (witch btw I love)

Same principle applies to any TS ship -- in X2, the cockpit was set forward, so you saw space; in X3, it's set back, so you look out over the whole length of the ship.
Well, I think the "uncluttered view" is gained when you don't use the mod.WarpWraith wrote:I have some requests for this mod!! (witch btw I love)
