Basically im planning on making 2 scripts after christmas
one is a merchants guild for those traders
and the other is able to join a races miltary to take on missions for the miltary
i would like any ideas for either trading type missions or miltary missions, like patrol duties, etc
cheers
Ok, i've added a poll to c which are the more prefered missions

for the military:
1.)border control just like the 1st mission in x3 just a little bit more difficult.
2.) A soldier is lost in a xenon or khaak sector and alone. Unfortunately he is very important for PR issues and you need to get him out of there alive. (Saving Privat Ryan ^^)
Trading:
A couple of hospitals are running out of medications that are needed to keep the critically ill patients alive. You need to pick the best route to provide all hospitals in time. Your are unfortunately not able to use a Jump Drive because all the Room in your cargo is needed for the medication. You loose if too many patients die
Ha, one of my missions that I lost when my hard drive died was a hospital / medicine one. Also, I am writing a military mission where you deliver 'something' to a spy but you cannot use the jumpdrive.
A prisoner Transport on a TL. The prisoner transport may a.) be attacked (pretty ordinary but certainly possible) b.) be taken over by the prisoners and the Player will escape from the TL in an M3(is M3 docking at TLs possible?) and have to get the TL back under Control without destroying it(maybe a scripted capturing) but i don't know if it is possible to teleport the player into different ships per script.
its not possible to change the playership
so not sure how u would be able to work that, althou, you could have something where you have to attampt to capture a ship back, you have to fly upto it and attampt to capture it back
maybe have certain conditions that will enable you to cap it
secret services/solider of fortune (whatever you come up with)
A new type of script which ties in some of your other scripts.
eg
levels of assasin/bounty hunter/mercenery have to be at level 10 or whatever is the top, to be able to start the new missions/script (if you can script it to check the other levels).
obviously any mission under these sort of ideas will have to be hard or maybe multiple missions, complete the first part to recieve the next part if you fail one you don't get paid or the chance to continue.
This would give people an incentive to
a: get top rank in all the guilds
b: stop people like me concentrating on just one type of guild
Might be good as your military one as you would have to prove yourself capable before joining.
just gotta find some missions that would be worthy once u get the highest levels
something really challenging combat wise
althou, there already is an incentive to get high levels
its only on the merc guild atm, but it will be on the others too soon
when reaching level 5, you get given a special gift, something that u cant normally get in the game
Deliver paperwork, invoices, order forms to the trading station in sector (could be a good way to earn a few credits at the start)
Low level
aquire x amount of y and return within z like the X2 missions for stations that needed product, the factory may or may not actually need said product.
Mid level
Deliver payroll (you would actually get the cash but must be trustworthy enough to deliver it or you will be booted out of merchants guild)
fully stock station for the guild, recieve top credits for all goods delivered, however, must be within x time.
fill all factories in X sector with their secondary resource within Y time (the guild needs top production from this sector and is willing to pay top prices for the resources)
High level
build a station/complex creating X that is needed in sector Y and deliver Z amount of it's production to the station as soon as it's available as this product is needed and can't be found closeby.
Buy unprofitable factory/complex from guild, (story = this factory was stuck in a bad sector and isn't producing anything currently), the owner is willing to sell it for half price just to get a return on his investment. This factory could be created at time of purchase and might actually be profitable but the current owner is just a bad businessman.
I'm sure if you were to browse Devnet you could find many more, hope these helped.
Could the parents of the little Argon girl, Suzie, please claim her sealed jar of remains?

some of those give me an idea for having some kinda station auction
where you take over NPC stations using the merchants guild
it would also mean you could put you stations up for auction too
i was thinking of having some kinda trader network too, that lists a few stations that are currently paying top money for resources
The Xenon have raided a station in [insert sectorname here]. You need to retake as many prisoners as you can. They are taking the prisoners back to Xenon sector XXX.
It could be a passenger/prisoner ship escorted by Xenon ships.
Hostile Takeover (story: a high raking member of the traders guild hasn't payed his dues and has instead gone his own way after aquiring/building one of the guilds factories).
You will have to fill all docking bays of said station with TS's to choke off his supply lines, then build the same type of station in the sector to resume commerce for the guild. They must be TS's as they are big enough to clog up the factory (hehe) using m5's don't count for this mission.
notes: after a time has passed you will get a nasty message from the owner of the factory about him packing up and leaving it telling you he left a surprize for you!! (he packed his factory with explosives that will not only destroy it but also your ships you have 2 minutes to remove all ts's or they are destroyed along with it).
EDIT: apparently you can't fill the docks of a base with your own ships as of 1.3 (DAMN) so this would have to be changed.
Reward is a half price TL (fully loaded with extentions) of your choice.

That sounds good, if the payroll is worth more than 1,000,000 it might be worth not delivering

u'll just have to find another way to stop them, ie, blowing up anyone who trys to dock
or maybe surroind the station with mines
True, but the whole idea of docking your ships is the loss you get when he blows up the station (and possibly your TS's). Maybe you would have to surround the station with laser towers (5 or 6) with (apparently) orders to destroy any ships willing to trade with him, that will be destroyed unless scooped up within X time of the final warning. This could also be dangerous to the player (or another ship if you can scoop up laser towers in another ship) as well. This the sence of loss is again established.

Addendum to this idea is the "bounty hunters" that (occassionally) come after your sorry ass when you decide to steal the payroll.
