Since it was brought up. Having owned two Audi A4 with the same problem known to Audi since the beginning of A4 and no resolution in sight. (just that if you drive more than 60000 km than its your fault and your gone pay it /at half its price). (Sweden: "Länkarmar"... whatever that is...).

Everybody doing this. Egosoft just want to try to rectify the errors. For free. (Well, you could buy two X3 for tha price of one "Länkarm" and you have eight... go figure!)

Just want things gonna be right!

yep same updated EVERY driver - now when it runs its smothish, then crashes it to desktop.

and no matter what i do
my cyborg evo joystick still wont work properly

I have hered some say that 1.3 will not work with your saved games, and that a restart will be in order. Is this true, anyone please.

Twas the Monday before Christmas and all though the night,
not a creature was stiring...except the Egosoft devs working on 1.3 that is.

As we now only have 4 working days till Christmass (in the UK at least, not sure if there are any public holidays in Germany over the next few days), if the patch is not out by Wednesday I would say it should not be released.

Why?

Simple, the 1.2.01 patch had an unfortunate flaw that killed the game on Win 9x core systems. If the patch is released after Wednesday any issues will not be able to be worked on till the new year.

I think it would be better to delay (if needed) and get it right, rather than muck it up.

Nope, official line is that it should be compatable and no restart should be needed.

I agree with you completely, but if thinking had anything to do with reality, then the game probably wouldn't be released yet.

when deadlines are close, games developers have 7 woking days a week

and sometimes can be like 16 hours a day
althou not sure if this is true for egosoft

Well, it's will be lot better if you restart game, since just like x-2 where TL change XL to L Cargo, they change speed, everywhere A.I and your ship still have a old speed, can't change speed unless you buy one and A.I respwan it, it's lot better that way, I think, so I think wise to resart game, My game is playable and smooth most of time, but didn't play now till 1.3 come out then I will be playing. P.S It's not like I'm bah, bah.

Hardly beta but it does need some polish. If for one am glad I have played it as much as I have. The problem is with no plot to continue and rank increases so slow there is little for me to do that earn money and with nothing big to spend it on, unless I want she loads of TLs, not much point in that either. Currently playing around with scripts.

Hob Anagerik this game is in the state that a game would go to beta in, to find the bugs that need to be fixed for release. In Game (PC Game shop)where I live they have dropped the price a number of times to try and sell this game. The price has dropped from £39.99 to £34.99 and now to £29.99 as they can't get rid of the stock they have. All other games have been fixed at £34.99, with only some very popular ones still at £39.99.

All my friends that got the game when it was released said it was unplayable and some of thier machines where top of the range, with water cooling or better. I was the lucky one who waited but of the problems I had with X2. Next time don't buy at release but wait untill the is a release standard before buying the product.

if u think X3 reselables a beta state, then u really havn't seen many betas

Betas can be considerable worse and i would hate to c the state X3 was in when it was released as beta

it might be buggy, but i wouldn't class it as a beta

This game is DEFINITELY better than a "REAL" beta. Sure, there will be companies who do "public betas" with "better" product than X3, but that's really just a "we're not sure if people are goign to like this, so lets see how it rate before we ship 10million copies of shit". I've done a ton of "real" beta testing and X3 is definitely not there. Never did an Egosoft beta, so I can't say how bad their betas are... I can only imagine.

Bugs? Yup. I'm stuck on mission 2 because of one that 1.3 hopefully resolves, but given the size and complexity of the X3 universe, this game is amazing, and only going to get better.

Hmmmm so do you go buy a car without checking out the features on the vehicle or consumer reviews? If you check out the features/reviews on a vehicle why didn't you check out this game on the website? Don't blame the company for you're lack of initiative.

I think my experience says a lot for the game.

It hangs every 2-3 hours, requiring a reboot.

Occasionally I get a savegame that only allows me to go for 5 minutes before it hangs, so I have to save every minute or so - until it sorts itself out.

My main save is stuck at mission 7-8.

But I keep playing it.

Most nights at the moment.

The game itself realises so much potential that other similar games have tried to, but have failed. I just can't stop playing it. Every night I nip in, and just set up a new factory, or go pirate hunting, or try for a Xenon Invasion, or I just try and wipe the Xenon out

- I even do a bit of old fashion trading from time to time - making a few 10k credits here and a few 10k credits there.

I've even played a new game from scratch just so I could see the rest of the plot through... Did I go for the 'Quick Start' option.. No, not a chance. I want a challenge. So I was back in with an Xtreme character, fighting my way back through the ranks, and the reputation (which they have got spectaculary spot on). So now I've completed the plot...

And i'll complete it again when the patch comes out.

Egosoft - keep it up. Brilliant game. So there are some 'quality' questions that need answering. Yes - the game was probably shipped a little early. But I for one am glad it did. And when the new patch comes out, I'll play it all over again...
