Is it of some consolation that the people who tend to rave about the support and loyalty of Egosoft tend to have been around the forum for a few years?

Egosoft always come through... always!

yes it takes time, they are not the biggest company in the world - if they were the games wouldn't be what they are!

Totally agree.

And for those complaining "Christmas, thanks a lot :roll: " man Christmas isn't even 2 weeks away anymore. relax, have a pint... go to work, play with your kids, build Frosty the Snow-Boron. It'll be out sooner than you think, and y'all find something else to rant about. =)

Hmm, will those stucked ships in Ore Belt (Terracorp Convoy) and those left after final mission in Heretic's End be fixed too? Even in my savegames?

And what does it mean that ending Argon rank will be fixed? Will I be finally able to buy at least some M1/M2 without having to play 24 hours a day?

nice! im glad we got an update, like many others, i am not too woried about contect (although a little would be nice in 1.3) im more concerned about the fixing of current bugs and performance issues, whitch is what 1.3 seems to be adressing, good job Egosoft. keep up the good work.

there are a few thing (very small but still annoying) which i have noticed:

*some rocket trails have a line at the very end which kind of ruins the effect eg. argon mercury

*many stations and large ships have 2D bits for small detail and these bits have an obvious outline which makes it look real crap

*now, the most important one...from a distance stations look like crap block moddels but when you get closer BOOM suddenly they snap to a mor detailed model. this is very annoying. shurely there must be a way (for faster PCs) to increace the range at which u see all the details or make it a gradual change instead of a sudden one?

noone else has commented on these ... perhaps noone cares...im a bit of a perfectionist :roll:

well anyway great work egosoft keep the patches rollin in :D :D

This is automatic quality. If you turn it off they look roughly the same at long distances. However, it seriously affects the speed of the game so it's best to leave it on.

Incidentally Pirate Bases DO spawn pirate ships internally which then immediately launch - it doesn't happen very often but it does happen.

I was doing a fly-around of a Pirate Base the first time it happened to me - made me jump to suddenly see 5-6 pirate fighters of various classes launch from the base with me just in the starting Buster.

I'm sorta hoping that the patch will allow for a more permanent pirate presence on Bases that will lanch to defend the facility if attacked, as well sending the odd wing to other sectors as it does now.

Im curious to know if the benchmark feature will be enabled with this patch. Not a priority but I am curious.

Thank you ever so much for the heads up. Is there any word on cockpits? I sure do miss a dashboard while flying.

Hmm... it seems that we won't get any new content to X3 compared to X2 with this patch either. Still X2 with a bit nicer graphics and less features. Well... I shouldn't judge 1.3 before I really see it but at this point it doesn't look good. They are only fixing problems that shouldn't been there at the first place and people are satisfied with that :?

How many times do people have to be told, cockpits are not being added and I am glad of it.
If you want them though they can be added through a script.

the beachmark feature will be enabled once the rolling demo comes out
as the rolling demo will be the benchmark

Hmm supose your right but they would have to include the rolling demo in a patch for it to be run though so i thought it might enable the benchmark to be enabled if they include the content for the rolling demo.

Not really a priority like i said but like i said before im curious as since its gona be a mega patch (presumably (sp) ) then its gona be big at a guess which would make it the best time to do it if its done to include it in the patch maybe?

I apprciate that you FINALLY came out with some news on this but you guys said LATE November and your 12+ days on that deadline and I feel (think many other people do or should if they don't) let down it took you this long to actually take notice and post something about your intentions. :evil: :evil:

I quit playing X3 because there are no combat missions available and it's nice to see that you are fixing it but in 2 months after it was released it is a little ludicrous to see it taking this long to fix. I have been off for a month and that makes we wish I would have waited to buy this when it hit the bargin bin because all it is doing is collection dust. I am certainly uninsipred to purchase any another product from egosoft and many other people I have spoken to just wont buy it until these simple mistakes are fixed.

Last thing here on my rant is I want to ask why it took so friggin long to come out with this info on this patch? I understand you are busy and want to make a quality product but wake up the game was a let down out of the box and these fixes shouldn't take this long nor should any info regarding fixing it. I hate to say this and believe me I do hate saying this because I want this to be a good game, but I fear this game is going to turn into another Vampire Bloodlines where after a few patches the company just drops the game. I understand the developer went under and that certainly doesn't seem the case here but the overall experience I have had with the game sucks (putting it mildly).

I think it is about time we had an update on the 1.3 release too but the game has been released (rushed out) and now things are going to slow up as they are going to be moving onto the 'next new thing' and leave a couple of bods to patch X3. It happens with all software not just this particular product, youve bought the game and they have your money cant see why they would want you for anything else apart from bug testing the latest patch. Ho Hum.

Still cant wait for the patch though, im hoping this will be what it should have been out of the box, but we shall see...
