Overview


X-Mercenaries is a system of networks that offer various services to both player and AI. Becoming a member of one of the six networks will grant you the possibility of setting a contract. Contracts can be of two kind : escort or patrol. Once you have decided which type you want, you will be asked for an objective, then you'll have to place a bounty.

A bounty is the main link between you and mercenaries. Mercenaries will only accept contracts if they think they are rewarding enough. Of course, the better they are, the greedier they become. Each mercenary will gain experience after completing a contract. Higher level mercenaries have better ships.

If you think that the bounty you set for a contract is not enough, you can increase it at anytime. Beware though, you must pay the bounty every hour until cancellation. You can cancel a contract whenever you want.

Many parameters are customizable via the t file. I've tried to keep this script non-cheaty, but of course it can be of great help. I've made this script to help me and the universe to fight againt the OCV of Litcube's Universe, but it's really not THAT powerful. It just helps sometimes to be escorted by two M4 ; just for the illusion of safety...

Keep in mind that by default, escort contracts are limited to 2 mercenaries, and patrol ones to 4. If you want more ships, you have to pay for more contracts (and that can represent a lot of money).


Installation


Copy the content of the archive into your ...x3tc\addon folder.

Compatibility : AP, probably TC. Mod-friendly.

Please report any bug and spelling/grammatical mistakes.

You can do everything you want with this script.

Currently, I focus on X-Missions Reloaded. This script works fine, but do not expect big gameplay changes. Low level mercenaries get destroyed very easily, and it takes a long time to have strong networks.

I just tried it with LU 1.3.2 but it seems to be in some kind of loop which keeps checking fees paid or something- I get spammed with "Membership fees paid: x" messages (about 1 every 2 minutes game time), and every time it does so it freezes the game for a few seconds.

I unzipped the download and pasted script and t folders and contents into the addon folder, so I assume so. This was done after a clean install of LU.

this sounds like it will add more life to my game....gonna check it out.

Update: looks like it has alot of potential, but it freezes my game every minute or two for a few seconds. And since you seem to of semi-abandoned this, think I will remove it and hope you merge it into X-Missions someday. Cool
