The mod kit was created to be used for future Homeworld modders or even a total conversion. It will leave modders free to focus on ship modelling, factories and scripts/missions.
There are of approx 60 sectors which include HW, HW2 and HWC locations with the map and these sectors are recreated as faithfully as possible to the original games. The backgrounds are X3 as I have not yet learned to import the HW backgrounds. With Moonrat, Connary and Realspace’s kind permission and credit, I have used their work as the backgrounds and planets to the HWU map, but kept with the original backgrounds for the X3 universe map; both maps are connected as a single universe. This is deliberate to create a feeling that you have entered a new Galaxy. Original HW music is in place as are most of the planets. Don’t expect original HW backgrounds as these tended to be in the orange colour range and will feel claustrophobic when added.
I only have asteroids to add, but I have added Vaygr command stations created by XDV_3195 in Outer Gehenna and Thaddis Sabbah sectors. The Balcora gate is there, as well as the Gate of Aarran which connects X3 to the Homeworld galaxy.
Most derelicts will be represented such as the Kha Toba and Kha Salim. As well as the Ghost Ship, the wreckage of the mothership scaffold in Kharak and the JunkYard Office in the Karos Graveyard. The larger derelict models such as the Dreadnaught Berth and the Karos Lighthouse will need to be created from scratch, but I don’t have the modelling skills required to create such models. I have merged most of the fantastic Homeworld Mod Ships created by XDV_3195, KNT79, Balogt and Anubitas, which are all available to be cheated or scripted in if desired.
The download is fairly large due to the additional Homeworld texture files.

Extract the zip file into your X3TC folder.
Run XTC and select new game
Then either custom game
or Galaxy Editor for editing.
Alternately; mod any of the ships or map as you see fit.

I have modded ships of the Kadesh using the original Homeworld textures, but these ships are eye candy only and need to be completed with weapons, docking ports and debugged to become fully functional.

I will register the ID ranges in the community library for future reference at some point.
The map will be released for beta testing once I have completed the Homeworld, Homeworld2 and Homeworld Cataclysm sectors and fixed some language text file issues. The Mod can be released in either zip file format and or as a Cat. This will allow Homeworld modders to select the components they require.
I will continue to support and improve the map as best as I can, but I’m still on a learning curve on X3 modding. I would appreciate any new Homeworld ships from anyone to add to my collection for the Mod kit.
