Pandora boxes in UFJD sectors ?

Post by Klord »

Read this & now Im wondering, do we have additional Pandora turnings other than vanilla 8 tuning crates we gain for a game ?

Edit - My English sucks  ...so in case you dont understand what I mean.
We gain 8 Pandora crates for a single game which appear in pirate sectors.
Can we find more in UFJD sectors ?

My counter for "Secret containers found" now shows 600+, meaning that I found 600+ Rudder Optimization crates there after about 30000 jumps (they count as a hidden container). Short answer to your question is "Yes" :)

Holy cow !!! :o
Time to the exploration...wow.
By the way, I cant understand the content in this thread.
& Im running a modified game.

So is their any way I can find those holy stuff without wasting my time.

Im using Dr.Bullwinkle's Detector. But it will be a pain in butt to find turnings in UFJD sectors because most of the UFJD sectors have Nvidium & detector shows them too.

EJ's script to detect those containers detects them in UFJD sector as well. If you don't want to do those repetitive jumps, you can just use the cheat editor to add whatever number of engine and rudder optimization you need.

No that will be too easy. Anyway thanks for the insight. (the great great news) :D

If it doesn't work, give it a kick. If that doesn't fix it hit it with a hammer. If it still doesn't work, USE A BIGGER HAMMER!!!

Unknown Sector..... That's what you get for using Bing instead of Google!

But of course that script can only work for a UFJD sector when run while you are personally sitting in the one such sector just created. No point running it elsewhere once all the normal space stuff has been located or expecting it to be meaningful for any UFJD sector apart from the one you run it in.

Agreed. Kurush's method is best if you are determined to find them., else use EJ's if you are only a casual UFJD jumper.

Not at all. :)

Detector will find tuning crates before Nividium. So, if there is a tuning crate in the sector, then Detector will find it before it searches for Nividium.

And you can easily turn off Nividium detection in the t file. The file is documented so that it is clear which value to change.

Also, changes in the t file update immediately. So Alt-Tab out of the game, change the t file, then return to the game.

Since the OP's original query has been answered and the thread (with my help admittedly) has gone fully into S&M discussions, we will call it a day there.

Cant find any pandora tuning in UFJD sectors ?

Post by Klord »

I jumped in to dozens of UFJD sectors & ran EmperorJon's findwares. script.
But was unable to find a single Pandora tuning. Of course there were lots of Energy cells. (about 6 per sector). But no tuning at all !!

Should i keep trying or am I missing something here....?

Here's my original thread.

Edit - Apology if Im violating forum rules... :S

Thank you.

I would have posted this in the S&M forum, which is the only reason for the original's demise.

In that thread, Kurush said about 600 rudder crates in 30,000 UFJDs. Do the maths - it is random with a % probability of appearing and probably (not sure) a few rules about what sector types it cannot be in.

Merging back under lock - next time post such queries in EJ's S&M thread please.
