AP voices

I am not sure what I have done, but I cannot hear any voices when doing missions or communicating with anyone... In the audio options, the voices are on 95%... I have sub titles now, but no voices.

How can I get them back?

I'm having the same issue. The voices worked fine yesterday but today it's just the radio crackles, station message beeps and the eerie silence. Restarting has no effect.

I just ran into this myself.

A cursory search of the issue on the Egosoft forums brought up one relevant but unanswered post in the technical support forum, and two threads about general performance improvement involving audio files.

It's very odd, the last major change to my computer was installing AP, but the dialogue worked fine for the first ten hours of gameplay.

There's a new thread for the missing voices in AP here. Post if you haven't already (make sure you include your dxdiag).

Betty voice worked fine after my first time installation. Then after I verify the game file through steam, it told me 1 file was missing and redownloaded. After the verification, the VO is gone. Do the verify process again and it shows no problem. And the problem is still not fixed. wth?

Were deleted by Steam from addon/mov at 8:53 p.m. Pacific time zone.

Those are the audio files and index file.

EDIT:
right click on the mov folder
select properties
select the previous versions tab
open the mov folder

What you'll see is what was in there earlier.

Copy and paste to restore

I just tested it and the speech is restored in game.

same problem here, i'll give details
1. I quit my game
2. See steam downloading for x3:ap something and stop without finishing it
3. I relauch the game ( i was thinking it was a patch or something .. )
4. load my last game and i see the TEXTS are now in english ( i'm french ), and i have NO MORE VOICES ! like peoples here.

Ps : i have uninstalled x3:ap and reinstalled it. no changes.

Hope this help devellopers to fix, i love this game thx for your work !

just sayin it again, there is some files that have been deleted by steam in /addon/mov which are the following for the english version of the game

00044.pck
00144.dat
00244.dat

maybe you can restore them from an earlier version (Win 7: folder properties)

in another thread the 00244.dat has been uploaded and linked by a kind user. it turns out that you can grab 00044 and 00144 from your TC/mov directory, they're identical as far as i know. (one user though said they were gone for him too since today)

for me as a german, im still lacking the 00249.dat version, but i can at least play in english now.

edit: for which also now an upload exists. so the problem is at least worked around.

goood thing i was playing X3 all night last night wich prevented the patch from causing these problems i disabled automatic patching when someone told me the problem

Steam have fixed the problem. The files that their system accidentally removed should re-download now.

i also have this issue. then my steam decided it has to download the whole 8gb again, which will take 4 days at best. and i had just exited ap to check how the stock market works. sigh.

I think you'll find that it won't actually re-download the whole thing.

@ Nerk: It may say it is going to download everything, but when it finds correct files already there it should skip over them and just download what is missing or corrupt. At least that is what my copy did and I hope it is the same for yours - unless you had moved the gamefiles from where they first downloaded as it may well reinstall everything then.
