:? Doesn't this breach Egosoft's T&C? (Or come to think of it, Steam's too, if it is exclusive steam dlc!)

It's the little DLC they had available for the Steam Summer Camp event. Just adds one sector with a free Medium SPP.

I'm with Eliah, I'd be concerned that this would be a 'no no' as far as Egosoft is concerned.

It's north of Elysium of Light, it's smallish with three bright stars in the distance and a desolate looking planet. There are a few low-yield asteroids scattered about, and the medium SPP is placed near the middle. Not really worthwhile resourcewise, but it is out of the way, and it isn't owned by anyone so nothing will spawn there. It makes a good alternative to Heretic's End for Space Weed/Fuel complexes.

This isn't legit, I figure Egosoft will re-release the DLC in a little while anyway. Plus when I got it I didn't get a huge 8mb download

The only noticeable change was a 2KB .PCK in the director folder

Don't forget about steam patch 3.1.1, which got released before DLC was released.

At least I did a first sight into the download and there seems to be nothing of danger. ;-) ... just wonder, what x3intro.obj is needed for?

Can you see any things with your Mod/MD-Release which may could mix up X³:TC after Ego themselves release 3.1.1 for non-steam, or maybe even the DLC for non-steam too?

The mission will fire within a min or so of loading the game. Be it an old save or newer one. There are a few things that will delay it though they should not occur too often.

Redownload, seems you did not get the full zipped file. It's been stated 3.1.1 will come out, no mention if the DLC will be officially released.

Saetan wrote:... just wonder, what x3intro.obj is needed for?
I have no idea! Tried taking it out and the mission did not want to fire during testing. May have gotten rusty at modding due to not doing any for a while...

Purely speculative opinion is that key files won't differ too much. When 3.1.1 comes out I should be able to reduce the zip file size since most of those files will be in the update.

Many thanks for releasing this. I for one hate exclusive content.

I did a Google search regarding 3.1.1 and only came up with Steam related content- do you have a link to the confirmation that the Non-Steam version will get the patch?

Thank you, still seems pretty vague though.

Looks like I'm too dumb to install this mod... I have X3TC 3.1.1 (From Steam) and unfortunately I missed this special event so I don't got the DLC. Now I was asked to include this new sector in Xadrian and I try to retrieve the data of this sector and this mod might just do it, but... I copied the cat/dat files to the TC folder and renamed them to 14 (Previous files are 13) and also copied the director folder. Then started the game, loaded an old save game, jumped to Elysium of Light but even after scanning a 200 km radius I can't find a north gate to this new sector. Is there some special quest I have to do to activate this sector? Or is there anything else I could have done wrong?

Got it working. I forgot that I also bought the Superbox. The MOD works with this. So the mod simply does not work with the Steam version.

Just installed 3.1.1 and everything seems to be fine. I even did test it with an very old savegame, and the sector got available just with the director-file and retail-patch 3.1.1 installed.

I know you're not supposed to post on old threads, but the rules for this board have a very large bit of text saying to post in the thread of the mod.

Going by Saetan's post with a fresh, 3.2 + bonus Steam installation of X3:TC, I installed the director file - and only the director file - to the TC directory. I checked the latest patch CAT file and saw that the Harmony of Perpetuity files were already included, so I figured it would fire.

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to have been the case. I checked the XML file and, as far as I know, the mission should have been triggered after I finished the tutorial - but no dice. I only just started a game as a Terran Defender, so is there something else I need to do or something that would prevent the mission from firing after the tutorial's finished?

I could just apply the fake patch, but I'm worried about undoing fixes included in 3.2 by doing so. If there was a way to just include the parts that make A Sunny Place work...Aro did post saying he was going to update this back in September, but as far as I can tell he never got around to it.

WARNING: These files are code files, this mod has the 3.1.1 code files in the cat dat and its install instructions are to put it as the highest cat dat. Doing this will break your game and or undo all changes from future patches if you have a game version that is not 3.1.1

Do not install this on 3.2 without removing these files, also -
dillpickle wrote:All you need for this to run in 3.2 is the director folder from the download in the OP.
No CATs, No DATS, No Mods, No fake patches.
The Harmony of Perpetuity map is included in the 3.2 maps folder, all the text for it is in the latest text folder, you just need the director file to add the gates.
The only thing you may need is a blank text file called modified.txt in the director folder if your game isn't already modified, so it will read the 'loose' director file.
