After the latest Steam DLC patch a few mods dont work poperly on Steam any more.
Is there any way around this?

Not many mods should have been affected by the 3.1.1 changes. Do you have an example?
I expect that most mod authors are waiting for 3.1.1 to be released for non-Steam versions before checking their mods still work. This will happen soon enough.
