Help! Drowning Newbie

Hello most learned ones;

I just learned how to activate the galaxy and script editor today, and I cannot make hide nor hair out of it. :?

Is there anyone in the X3 universe that can help me answer some simple questions, such as;

1. Can I create space stations? and how do I make the script?

2. How can I edit a sector, such as add or remove stations?

3. How can I edit a monetary account?

If anyone could help me even get started I would be most grateful.

A most inexperienced fanatic :lol:

One way to learn is to take existing scripts and look at how they work. I'm a modder myself, though, and scripting is personally outside the range of things my mind is willing to do.

Thank you for the help. After multiple attempts, I finally got the plug in manager to download and exe. I got it out of Vanilla mode, but I'm still unsure how to download and find the codes to fill it with. More help would be most greatly appreciated

the plugin maneger is an instal program for spk script files

so 1 instal plugin maneger

2 download script from here`s a list http://forum.egosoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=216690

3 double click on downloaded spk file and the plugin maneger installs it for u



keep in mind that ther are 3 formats of scripts/mods

1 spk file (for use with plugin manneger)
2 zip file containing folders like scripts t (for manual copy past into game directory)
3 .cat .dat files(to be used as mod in mod folder or to be renamed to highest number in game dir

For your exact questions...


1. You can create place stations or edit an existing station's resources and products through the GE or SE. If you wish to make a brand new station you'll need to mod it, you may have to make a new model or you could use another station's model.

2. You can write scripts which place objects, and destroy objects, in the script editor. Or you can edit the map of the game (requires some extraction of files usind ModManager) so that they're there at the start.

3. Adding money to the player's account is a one liner script. Start a new script, check the money section, there should be an add to player account command. If you wish to edit money on start of a game you'll want to edit or make a new gamestart, once again requiring modding.
