[SCRIPT] Military Outpost at Shipyard v.1

Post by Krewzur »

Military Outpost at Shipyard

This script allows you to buy Military Outposts at the Argon Shipyard in Legends home.
The cost, size and rep requirements are the same as the Argon Equipment Dock.

ATTENTION: Make sure you remove the old SPK when installing a newer version, the way i named it, it won't overwrite the old one (stupid me), this will be fixed in any future versions.

v.1
-Added Argon Military Outpost to Argon Shipyard in Legends Home

Enjoy!

Nice! :D.

Stupid question maybe, but how are these stations any different from EQ-docks? It is because they also have a "trade-capability" like the Trading Stations and that they can dock Capital-ships?

Hmmmm, I think I'm going to buy a few anyway. Set them up with the fighter-base commander script and have them do patrols to train in safe sectors 8)

I don't know what the difference is i just thought they look cool. I've never even bought one myself so i don't know what kind of capabilities they have either.

My guess is that for the player it does the exact same thing as the regular equipment dock

Outposts are very capable of docking Cap ships, but in what they differ from standard EQ Docks is that Outposts are also very capable of DESTROYING CAP SHIPS WHEN THEY TRY TO UNDOCK!

They don't need to be able to move...it's a station, guys. Maybe you're confused with the Orbital Weapon Platforms, which are "immobile" M1 class ships. Those can be easily tugged along with a tractor beam.

I'll throw in yet another stupid question (because this script has not been properly described..)

What does this thing do?

Adds the ability to purchase a Military Outpost (like in Elena's Fortune) from the shipyard in sector Legend's Home. You buy it just like any other station or factory in a TL, haul it out to where you want it, and plop it.

Yes, that's what I thought. I guess my real question was, what's a military outpost do? Features? Abilities? Sorry for my ignorance, but I don't remember seeing one in the game.

Not? Well, one is at Kingdoms End. Another one is in an Argon sector next to a Xenon sertor, the one near Omicron Lyrae.

But there quite a lot more. Just open your eyes...

thx for this, not so much for the military base but the script ingeneral.

i was looking for one that was this simple for adding a station of choice to shipyards.

this script is perfect for people that want to add a certain station to your shipyards, such as a Phased array laser forge ect. only have to change 1 thing in the script, or 4 things if you want it at a diffrent shipyard.

thank you, amurph0

be careful with which stations you add, the ones that aren't actually in the universe (spacefly farm, nividium mine, etc) all have Delaxian Wheat as there products. They require a seperate script to fix them.
