Detailed description:
Insurance technology is available from ALL Races Equipment Docks for 10k. Once a ship is equipped you can insure it against accidental loss and death via the "Insure Target" which will be available in your Special Commands Menu.
There are 2 options to choose from.
1. Fully Comprehensive Insurance.
The ship will be insured as well as all installed lasers/shields/wares
2. 3rd Party F+T
Just the ship is insured.
Insurance lasts for 24 game hours before it runs out.
You can check how long your ships insurance policy has left once insured by running the "Insure Target" command and a new policy can not be obtained for a ship until it has lapsed or there is less than 30 minutes left on the policy.
Running the "Insure Target" command on your ship will scan all of your ships and your logbook will return any ships who's policy is about to lapse.
No Claims Discount.
Your NCD is calculated by the amount of ships you have claimed against and the amount of ships that have been insured without a claim.
for each payout you gain 1 NCD point and for each ship that lives through it's policy period 1 NCD point is removed.
Your aim should be to keep your NCD at 1 point as your premiums will be lower, as your NCD increases cost to insure will increase until you end up Blacklisted.
