Hmm, I must be doing something wrong then. I have three wings. One has a Drostan escorted by a Malechon and two Dolmechs. Other wings are Eterscels Sentinels escorted by another Eterscels and two captured Malechons. No matter what I do, even a single K or Titurel wipes most of them out before they do any significant damage. I would really like to know how to organize them to be more effective.

I'd organize those ships either in a single wing under the Drostan, or in two wings: one under the Drostan which tends to go after capital ships, the other under an Eterscel which will tend to provide area control.plynak wrote:Hmm, I must be doing something wrong then. And get more fighters! More fighters -> taking down ships faster -> more fighters surviving.

Tell me, how I can look at my saves debug log? (It's not about this extension).
I have old and strange bug with building drones in zones where are my Stations (and Building Ships) exist.
My Skunk Event messanger always spammed by messages like "your building drone has been destroyed in..." (but, actually, not).
Also, building drones doesn't appear visually under the combat ships at all, but there are in use...
I want to look for the errors in my saves and determine the bug. Please?

To have the game generate a debug log, insert this into your launch options:
-debug all -logfile [some_file_name].txt (without the brackets)
This will generate a text file just above your save directory. If running Windows 7 or 10, this is in:
\Users\[username]\Documents\Egosoft\X Rebirth\[long number]\
edit:
I haven't checked for this particular problem lately, but I remember checking when they first announced the fix, and found that it was indeed fixed.

Sounds like an old vanilla bug that was fixed by Ego a while back. Did you jump updates from an old 2.x game to 3.53 or 3.60? If so, a side-effect could be that construction drones orphaned before the patch go to the middle of the zone where they got stranded, where they are then usually destroyed by pirates.iWARR wrote:Also, building drones doesn't appear visually under the combat ships at all, but there are in use...

Thanks!
I'm test your last changes a bit and found that everithing is OK: good balance and comfortable message flow. Great job.
Is there ability to fill by color the "Level" of danger or increase text size in the Skunk monitor just for this tip? Or may be big graphics icons for the numbers 1...5?
Thanks!

Ha! I'll see if I could fit it into an obscure place in the battle display somewhere. Shouldn't overuse it. Maybe a message from the enemy ship's pilot when one of your ships gets threat level 6?Sparky Sparkycorp wrote:Hahaha! Legendary Hyperion captain-turned-multibillion-credit-mogul Sparky of the ubiquitous Sparkycorp pointed out that MICT Capital Ship Captains are stupid. You heard 'im right, stuuuuupid. Why? Because although MICT Captains take range into account, they often fly smack-dab right into opponent ships' guns! On purpose! Possibly because of adoption of some obscure Split ritual that seems to indicate that doing so is an indication of one's bravery, or some such nonsense.
The MICT council, with typical level-headedness, did not get angry. Rather, they decided to look into the matter and try to decide a better course of action. MICTCorp, with some marginal almost non-existent help from Sparkycorp, now present the SparkyManeouver:
MICT Capital Ship Captains will now try to maneouver their ships towards opponents' weakest points.
However, there has been some resistance among the elite cadre of MICT Sucellus and Balor Captains. They insist to go the opposite direction, and face opponents' strongest points. Asked for an explanation, they stoic band simply smirked and said "Iñigo Montoya is chickenz."

Looking forward to feedback on the implementation of the SparkyManeouver from the famous Sparky Sparkycorp!Sparky Sparkycorp wrote:Well done!
I finished the plot started in ~3.50 yesterday and I'm just wrapping up a bit of residual station extending. So I'm hoping to re-sub these M mods this evening.

Hi all,
Wanted to get back to testing this, but a recent W10 update basically trashed my PC. No amount of repairing or applying the update again helped - in fact it got worse - so I've just finished a full, from scratch re-install...just need to get all my stuff back on there now!
All good fun

Hi mate. Well, I've upgraded three of my machines now. The first was my Laptop running W8.1 Pro - I used the automatic update method via Windows Update to do that one, don't usually but wanted to see what it was like. Anyway, it turned my W8.1 Pro into W10 Home. Not a big deal on that particular machine. Next I did Gamer Jnr (my luggable gaming tower) via the same method and that upgraded to 10 Pro just fine.
I then did my main Gamer via a USB key - still an upgrade though - and that seemed ok. Had a dodgy NV update that gave me a headache for a couple of hours but other than that it's been great. Until yesterday when a forced W10 update killed my taskbar and Start Menu button. Not fixable sadly - tried LOTS of things - so had to do a complete fresh install this eve. So, not on an upgrade any more but a full version, which - oddly - seems to run a little smoother. Go figure.
Anyway, little Off Topic chat there. Steam has installed while I type this and I've managed to point it at my existing Steam Library so no epic downloads on my crappy BB - other than ARK that want's to download 600mb almost...takes quite a while for me that does.
Will be back in Rebirth before too long I hope!
Cheers,
Scoob.

Hi w.evens o/
You'll likely see my post in the CaWiR thread. I think you enjoy trying knew scenarios so I am hoping that the following vanilla, post-plot save is of interest. I had time to create it while you modders slaved away so it's the least I can do.
