Am Donnerstag habe ich das Vergnügen bei Violetmedia in München für das neue Egosoft Computerspiel "X Rebirth" die Figur "Yisha" einzusprechen.

On Thursday I will be recording the voice of the character "Yisha" for the new Egosoft game "X Rebirth" in Munich at Violetmedia.

EDIT2 30. Aug.: i have put together some new Infos from the German Topic:

as some of you may have noticed the German thread is much bigger (currently at Page 5) and the Seiyuu.. erm Dubbing Actor has registered herself here on this Forum as peanutqueen to keep things fair i will put together the important points here (and in the first Post )

1. Anna-Sophia Lumpe speaks the female Main Charakter in X-Rebirth
2. Anna has not suscribed any NDA, so she can actually tell us everything she knows (which doesn't seem much, see next points)
3. she only did english Voice Acting, but her first language is afaik German so she probably will do the German Voice acting, too. (which she didn't up to now, which means the release is not so soon as some imagine or someone else does the German Voice Acting)
4. there were 30 other people who couls speak Yisha, but in the end she (Anna) was selected.
5. the final Voice Acting is not done yet. (i think EGO did some preceding voice acting to get a grasp for the Voice of Yisha to give her the best-fitting Text)
6. there is no reply for currently recorded the english Version from EGO (or DS) yet, Anna thinks it is currently tested.
7. Anna will not tell anything about the Story
8. She likes to play RPGS (Sacred, Dragon's Origin, Diablo) and the good old Age of Empires

i think that were the most important points regarding this Topic (mostly from Anna, but some infos where linked by users) - i will add the exact sources later (forgot it while searching and translating ^^'' )

also i hope the voice actress does not get in any trouble in terms of NDA's etc,

its all just speculation at the end of the day.


edit - more to the point if this is a major character then i think the fact the voice is only just being recorded means we are at least 2 or 3 months off release, thats my guess. I think early 2013 is the most accurate timescale from the conspiracy threads on release dates lol

Not that I'm thinking it'll come out this year, but voice recordings aren't particularly tightly tied to the development cycle of a game.
They can come in just weeks before release even since the devs could easily record themselves with a same length clip for testing.

Exactly. In Facts it's better to record late, this way the producers prevent to call syncronists again and again for a few new phrases.
So actually this means X:R is quite done

I have absolutely no idea about games developpement but It's not possible to start beta testings before te voices implementation? It's not something too important. If they haven't already started with that I fear that we have a lot to wait until release... Maybe Summer 2013? I dont know let's hope the interview clear something.

i doubt that there'll be a public beta. most likely something selective even for level 5 users.

i like her voice. there are some samples on her web site in english.

that's called alpha test and i hope egosoft got that more or less done.
beta test is a nearly-complete™ release for people outside of dev team.

well voice recordings will have to be tested so it'll be part of the beta testing. But different things can be tested at different times. Just depends on the game and company really

Nice work, UniTrader! Even the tiniest morsel of information is always appreciated.

As some people have said, I'd imagine professional voice implementation to be one of the last things to go in, because the devs can make do with their own clips right up until beta, as the only other things it affects are lip-sync (if XR needs that) and even then the models can just be lip-synced to Bernd's sexy, sexy voice and then the professional added in instead, later.

Still holding out for a Q4 2012 release...
