Hello everybody and thank you for being patient. A few more answers today:
It always was a toilet. Did your player character ever have to go to the toilet before?
Btw. there is an article about our flight physics in the new magazine "Play SF" which should be released soon.

Now that was vague deliberately
"Time is the fire in which we burn"
The simple fact that the game is not done yet. Sorry.delray wrote:What was the main reason behind pushing the release to 2012?
Not sure exactly what you mean with this, as large ships always behaved different from smaller ships. They are of course also in X: Rebirth slower to accelerate and turn. More importantly, the Ai pathing system for Rebirth is very different from the steering used in the older X games. So yes: The size of a ship plays an important role.Deeparth wrote:Will the physics of ships depend on their size? It would be nice if thats true.

A capitalship like a station is built from scratch according to a plan. That plan can allow varyind degrees of freedom. On top of the main blocks that come out of this plan however, the player can then also upgrade many "surface elements", like individual shield generators, turrets or special weapon systems.Coupaholic wrote:I am curious to know more about the possible customisation options within the game and how far it would go.
You mentioned in the released material that I could control every detail of construction for a capital ship, so could I design a hull from a selection of blueprint sections? Could I choose a combination of generators to govern shield/weapon strength, and things like top speed or maneuverability?
Jumping would not be a solution to the real problem: With more possibilities to jump, the space is still empty and does not have an interesting structure. Highways bring the majority of NPCs close together and allows for a much more interesting method of traveling while still allowing large systems.phoenix-it wrote:QUESTION

You can walk around on station platforms and inside your playership by moving from one point to another. So YES you can move in real 3D and interact with people, but NO you are not freely moving as in a FPS (also you dont have a gun for thatGreenpatriot wrote:Honestly I made a account last minute just to ask a Q. I hope you answer this, for I'm sure you would like to clear this up. If already asked I didnt care to read through every page.

WHERE CAN I GET THIS MAGAZINE?Bernd wrote:Btw. there is an article about our flight physics in the new magazine "Play SF" which should be released soon.
Edit: Found their site. They're really new. They aren't even on issue one yet.
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse.

My guess is that they will announce the game's release date like a week before it's released.
P.S. From what bernd said this is going to be the new X engine

Dunno if questions are going to be answered anymore but here goes.
Q1: With the new engine will it be possible for a warp based FTL engine mod to exist in game so that a player can point in a direction and warp to a location, even manually or are there still dead-zones present where player will hit wall and need to move into the superhighway system in order to move forward?
Dunno if that makes sense to people but I am a star trek fan and also like the freedom of travel in the series, true exploration, no borders or boundaries etc... I believe a few games had this in the past but never really the X series for some reason. I don't see much issue with voids of space with nothing happening either, I mean that could be filled with player content or patches or simply have vast areas of asteroids, nebulas, and even just boring voids.. That is space afterall. Why does it need to be a busy city? LOL
Also perhaps differences in warp engine capacities would determine how far and fast you travel.

Bernd has answered twice. I don't know. It wouldn't hurt to leave a question, I think he's been more than generous in his responses, but, who knows he might surprise us again.
