I remember seeing something about "boarding drones" in the stickies, but whether it works like TC boarding to capture ships is anyone's guess.softweir wrote:Bernd did mention it in one of his interviews or posts - can't remember where. Will boarding be possible?

Well as long as there is a sniff about it I am happy.strude wrote:I remember seeing something about "boarding drones" in the stickies, but whether it works like TC boarding to capture ships is anyone's guess.softweir wrote:Bernd did mention it in one of his interviews or posts - can't remember where. I personally feel boarding is necessary for a game like this and while it is hard work it is kinda fun lol

Depends: If, as some people have speculated, the star powering the hub went supernova then BOOM! If the gates just went down then it is safe to assume they were stuck, unless they found a route out through the wall of the hub and managed to find a world to live on.LTerSlash wrote:i got a question.
If the gate network was shutdown, what happened with the people and ships inside the hub?

OK, so my post was a bit condensed. I should have said:Bobucles wrote:Hypothesis:Counter Hypothesis (the gates went down for some reason other than the HUB star going nova):the star powering the hub went supernova then BOOM!it is safe to assume they were stuck,
...I don't have the heart to tell him. I really don't.

Alternatively, if the gates just went down (for some other reason) then it is safe to assume they were stuck, unless they found a route out through the wall of the hub and managed to find a world to live on.

Would it be possible to have say longer rang/higher hitting power with say a PRG on a capital ship then a fighter craft for example
fighter craft with PRG - 2.3km
capital ship with PRG - 4.6km
the rang difference would be because of the bigger power generation on the ship class and could very among ships classes.

What do you mean "cheaper"? When was the last time you had to pay for DLC, as opposed to a major new release? Egosoft always produces additional DLC, for free, alongside bug-fixes and expansion packs.scaco wrote:I kind of feel that a lot of effort was put into building a better platform with a relatively less breadth of content (systems, ships ecc.).
Are you plan to release smaller (and cheaper) DLC, as opposed to big and less frequent expansions?

My guess is he means "cheaper" as in "of lower quality", not indicating the price (non existant untill now).softweir wrote:What do you mean "cheaper"? Well maybe with only a single game standard to update and a fairly automated update process it may prove 'cheaper' for Egosoft in producing and distributing the updates. Perhaps an aligned question would be:
Given the more strict version control and automated update process mentioned for the game, does Egosoft envisage giving out more frequent small fixes and minor updates as soon as play issues are identified, confirmed and addressed or will these usually wait to be bundled with more major updates or added content releases? (I suspect the answer to this will be of particular interest to modders.)

As I created the German thread (based on em3e3s idea / first topic), let me post a translation of the answered questions and answers.

I hope this translation is a little bit better than the one from that Google guy.Bernd wrote:To move you will select a task and move then quickly to the appropriate place. The player will notice everything radically in the first person view (especially in the virtual reality this will be obvious).Dietger wrote: How does the player move on his ship (first person view/third person view)? How many rooms will there be on the ship? Will we be able to leave it, e.g. in the ego perspective over a ramp (i.e. how does the entering of the plattforms work)?
Yes you can leave your ship to come in contact with NPCs on plattforms.
(Own comment: The English insults are probably different than the direct translations. But I suppose you understand the question. The Q)Bedachto wrote:Will insults, like "Are you stoned?", "How stupid are you?" and "You fight like a beginner?", be featured again?
Well, until now we hadn't insults on our "avertised features"-list. But if you want, we can add some specific for you.
What is the difference?Rhox wrote:Will you be able to control only drones or also other ships with the announced "Virtual Reality Interface"?
As per our definition it's a drone, if it needs no pilots, which is the case, if it can be remote-controlled. If you hear drones, please don't think only of the little things in previous X-Games. Of course, most of them are rather small, as they have to be started from other ships. But that doesn't always have to be the case.
There will be also a mouse control like in X3TC. Of course the game is very different and that's why the control not comparable. But the principles of controlling with the cursor are similar.aversin wrote:I would like to know, if the mouse control of TC (especially in fight situations) is still used / will be optimised?
No.Boro Pi wrote:Will you be able to build stations without an architect?
That depends on the kind of edition. The first edition of the "boxed" versions always had a printed manual until now. While the final decision is made by the publisher, I don't know a reason, why this should change.Alex Corvis wrote:Will there be a detailed printed manual/handbook as in previous X-Games?
