Ran into a Split Military Elephant in Xenon Sector 598...that made me chuckle.
I have two Yaki Battle Group Advanced Chokaros in the sector that becomes The Hub with the non-Beta Jobs version. This is after entering the sector for the first time, before hauling Squiddy over. At the moment they've deployed their fighters and are mulling around menacingly as I read the plotlogs... :P

The official Jobs v4 release is here.

The readme;

If you aren't going to start a new game:

1. Open a copy of Jobs v4. Delete everything after 7000.
2. Load your game. Run the delete nameless script.
3. Save, put Jobs v4 in your types folder, and reload.

Failure to complete these steps will result in odd behavior. You have been warned.

This is a work in progress. If you see any readtexts, let me know. If you see anything that looks odd--escorts of the wrong race, for example--let me know.

The Yaki are something of an experiment. A C&C M1 should spawn in a random sector, and a large fleet should spawn around them. It will then spread out somewhat.

Many capital ships have their spawn sectors hardcoded. If you're using sector takeover of some sort, this may be a problem. I'm working on a solution.

You will need EES or CWP. See main post for links.

So... what happens if you don't use them? I want to use EES, but the TXU site is down right now.

Must... resist... urge... to reply with another screencap...

I left many shield/weapon/tuning stats at zero, which'll leave many ships defenseless. CWP is up, use that for now. You can always switch to EES later, if you'd like.

Anyone know some way to batch-set those values? I need to change hue/sat values as well(which Mizuchi will shortly be pointing out, I'm sure).

Fixed.

Okay. How would I go about switching from CWP to EES? Would EES simply overwrite CWP on installation, or is the process more involved (do I have to back anything up)?

*Snip*

I just noticed the entire time I've been using the old version I never designated which variant of the Jobs file (namedcivs/nocivs/unleashed) the game should use. The Jobwings file is in there just fine, though.

What do I do? Do I still have to go through the updating procedure, or can I just throw the new jobs file in as if I was starting a new game?

Does it work with Open Office for Windows?

It really is that simple.
And when updating the jobs list, I run the script in-game, then install the new file into the types folder?
You need to clear out v3 job ships, which means you need to install a blank, or partially blank, Jobs file(as I described above) before running the script. Only after that do you install v4.

Wait so the updating procedure is:

1 ) Open the Jobs v4 file.

2 ) Remove lines above 7000.

3 ) Save modified Jobs v4 file.

4 ) Place modified Jobs v4 file in types folder.

5 ) Run TC.

6 ) Run deletion script in-game.

7 ) Save.

8 ) Close TC.

9 ) Place un-modified Jobs v4 file in types folder.

10 ) Run TC.

Correct?

That'll do it.

What's the delete nameless script called in the SE?
