[X3:TC] Using TS to load up TL's

Post by Biroboy »

Hey all,

From what I remember of Reunion, and what I've read on these forums, it should be possible to use a TS to load up a TL as long as one/both of the ships has a transporter device. I'm homebasing the TS to the TL, then using a 'buy wares' command with -1 repeats, but it's not working. The TS will dock at the complex in question, load up with ore, but never undock and head back to the TL.....

Please help, I need to unload 450,000 ore from my mining 'plex to my TL, and I really really really don't want to do it with falcon haulers at 60 ore a trip.....

Don't do it manually. Take advantage of the automated commands.

Take the TS, and choose the Hub as a homebase. Tell the TS to "buy ware..." and chose the ore complex. Tell the TS to buy Ore. The game will ask how many trips; say "-1" to have the ship run an endless loop. The TS will now constantly buy ore for the Hub. Keep the Hub full of credits and everything should run smoothly.

A freighter with Trade MK2 can be told to wander the galaxy in search of good deals (Buy ware for best price...). Don't use too many to hunt for one thing, as they tend to all cluster at the same places.

Tell the Hub to buy Ore at an above average price. This will encourage NPC traders to dump their ore at your place. The higher the price, the more they'll help.

Protip: Have one TS always set to purchase Energy Cells for the Hub. You may have several ships hauling various things, and they'll all need energy.

AI or you, its still going to take time to move that amount of goods. Its a shame capital ships could not dock at complex's.

I did add a capital ship docking point/new HUB in my X3 mod but I never did a TC mod (not yet anyway). If I did, it would be something I would add because (as you know I) it would save people a lot of time when moving large amounts of goods.

that might be the best option then, as you could dock your TL on your complex and fill it up in one second... simplez...

this is how my complex hub looked.

I made a White wing of 10 Caiman SF maxd to 10.3k and a Silver Wing of 5 Dolphin SF at 14k each.

I just have the TS's with 2- 5k shields each and jump reload cells to 15. Of course transporter on all. I use reload 15 as that is the max jump from most of my complexs, I manually up the e-cells for my 2 far complexes when needed.

jump them to a complex. load up, have/move my TL nearby, send wing to follow TL, when in range, freight x-fer.
Jump TL to Hub, jump a TS wing to next complex to load, Unload TL at hub and jump it to near where I sent the TS wing to reload.

2-wings, 2 TL's just cycle my complexes.

I like the automated idea above so I might try that as my way is a bit manual.
