It won't take us a million years to get it down under, but it's probably going to feel like it. I remember that it was about a full month or two after the European release before I got my pre-ordered copy of TC last year. Let's hope this time Red Ant actually gives us the manual, rather than a disc version of it.

And heck, even if it was $80, I'd still buy it as soon as it was released, so long as I had the money and no bills needing payment. But I might order online from the Ego shop when it comes out, this time.

Very silly question if you bought the new X3:TC 2.0 version of the game and installed it. Would it upgrade your previous installation without trouble or would you have to uninstall your old game first?

There is no difference with a patched 2.0 and an installed Gold edition 2.0.

They are save-game compatible if that's what you mean.

I would guess trying to install another copy of X3TC (2.0 or not) would probably start the uninstaller for your current installation.

You could then install the 2.0 version and all your settings and saved games should work with that though (although back up first just in case).

Just downloading the patch would be a better choice if that's possible.

Is this going to be released in the U.S.?

Good flying, or reinforcements. Lots of reinforcements.

X3: Gold Edition is now available for pre-order from the Egosoft.com Shop.

The X3: Gold Edition box is in German and has a printed manual in German only, but the games are still equipped with the languages specified in the Shop.

Note: UK-based fans should be aware that the licensing agreement for X3: Gold Edition means it will not be available from UK retailers, but the game still includes full English text and voice support.

So what you are saying is that there will be no English version of the box and manual? :(

I have got to admit that I'm a bit disappointed, that there will not be an English printed version. But what I was looking forward to the most from the Gold release, was a copy of the soundtrack. Will there be any other way of buying the soundtrack from you?

Of course, not having an English box/manual doesn't make it any less a collectors' edition.

You can still pre-order the Gold Edition in order to get the CD, as it's unlikely that it will be shipped separately. As I mentioned, both games are completely playable in English.

Ahhh well. Was going to pick it up, but alas, as there's no English manual, my interest has all but dispersed - Especially with the poor strength of the Pound.

I'm baffled, why on earth wouldn't egosoft do an english/us gold edition version?

I was hoping to get this along with others but as the manual is german and the box is german a lot of people will give this a miss.

Just MHO

as usual, it's probably down to the publishers, not to Egosoft.

X3 gold in North America?

Post by jamieren »

Hi guys, I'm from Canada (we seem to be the last ones to get anything!) and I was wondering if this collection will be available to us on this side of the pond. I once owned X3 and loved it. I'd like to get it again, but I'm wondering if this new expansion is worth the trouble. I see X3 v 2.0 (with bala-gi missions) is available on the net for less than $10, and once a couple of mods are added ..viola! I've already got more time burned on the computer than I have to spend. Suggestions?
